If just the fit of the coat sucks, take it to a tailor. It will fit better than picking up a new pair.

+1. The E. Wilson Slim Fit is the first coat I've ever had that didn't look like a cape when walking down the hallway unbuttoned and is legitimate in terms of stain/fluid repellent. Hard to justify on a resident's salary though.

One suggestion, don't buy the 100% cotton one unless you like ironing. I much prefer the poly-cotton ones that you can crumple into your bag and come out looking just fine.

elastic cuffs are a must for me, it may look dorky but is much better to work with, and also 3 pockets for snacks, notebook and snacks
