Where can I get one of those binders that open up and store your papers and can be used as a clipboard for rotations? Thanks!!

Do you have one? Is it any good?

I have one. Way overpriced but it's worth it, especially on your medicine rotation. Fits nicely into the coat pocket. I print out my census when I get to the hospital, stick it on the clipboard, fold it up and make rounds. Great for taking H&Ps too when you have nowhere to sit.

I agree. I got it and it is often envied from the floors to the ED. It also doesn't get left behind because you have somewhere to put it. I bought two off the bat because I knew I would love it,; turned out to be a good thing, cause the clippy thing broke on one (a binder clip with fix it in a pinch, though 😉

That thing looks very cheaply-made. Is it durable?

I agree that it is definitely over-priced. But it is really useful. It holds lots of paper, has handy equations and info right on it, and is great if you have to write while standing. I haven't had my clip broken yet, but a couple of my classmates have, which they fixed with putting on another clip in a snap.

I agree it is VERY cheaply made, but fortunately I got mine for free b/c I asked to evaluate the product. I've tried many clipboard alternatives, and the whitecoat clipboard has been the MOST useful invention for inpatient clerkships. I put it in my pocket as soon as I start my PE on a pt, so I never lose confidential pt info, plus my hands are free during rounds.

On the down side, in the 1st 3 weeks of use, the inner reference card split COMPLETELY down the middle, and the clip broke off (common flaws, it seems). I replaced the clip w/my own office-type bulldog clip, which works great, and I taped up the middle part securely. It now looks quite ghetto, but still the most useful thing I've had for rotations, especially on my AI.

I wish they had a more durable one that also had pediatric reference values 🙄
