Hey guys, I already shadowed a DO, read up on osteopathic medicine, and read about alot of schools.

I was just wondering if anyone knows of any good websites I could find some more information on the DO profession, more than AOA provides on its websites. I ordered "The D.O.'s", but want to get some information like today.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

What specifically do you want to know?

Well I've read many websites on Osteopathic medicine, and besides the holistic approach and OMT (which is rarely used as is by modern DO's), it's hard to find other info. Like lots of schools ask "Why osteo?", but besides the above two things, what else is there? I mean I've shadowed two DO's, and neither used OMT, but one did use the holistic approach. I mean ultimately my goal is becoming a doctor, but you just can't put that on an app. I'm kinda looking for other reasons "Why osteo?"

Anyone else in my dilemma?

Yeah i'm in a similar situation where I want to find out more about osteopathic medicine. What i plan to do after i deal with this pesky MCAT is to get Foundations for Osteopathic Medicine by Robert C Ward (1000pg textbook on Osteopathic history philosophy and OMT techniques). It's 39 bucks on amazon but I'll see if I can get it from DC++ or the library.
