hi!!!!!!!

I'm at a CC right now and soon to be going into my second year. I am fairly confident in my ability to be accepted to most of the schools below and perhaps I could get some insight from you brilliant supposed peers of mine.

(EDIT!!!)
I replied below and answered my own question on where I wanted to go.(still like advice) But I just want to say I perhaps exaggerated slightly with my confidence in that paragraph. I really don't know about Duke, and am not so sure about Rice or Chicago... but.. though I may be naive in this thinking, I believe I have a very good possibility of being accepted into many of these schools.

As far as waiting to ask this til I'm accepted. I find it unreasonable to fork out the moneyz to all these schoolz and then pick one. Just tryin to narrow muh choices here as the application process is nigh.
thnx
(END EDIT)
--------------

Rice- I lived in Houston for 6 years growing up. Beautiful place. School and tuition is awesome it seems. Great opportunites for research. In muh top 3 currently.

Cornell- Only Ivy I have a "hard-on" for. hehe NY would be a cool place to live, and perhaps I could start skiing. Was at the top of my list when I began looking into schools and is still at least in my top 3. I lub em.

WashU- I figure I could get some good scholarships and grants here. Awesome underrated undergrad school. Could catch some Cardinals games. Top 3 definitely! Are there any mountains to ski on nearby?

University of Chicago- Neato nerdy school. Great rep, good teachers. Chicago is nice. Could do the skiing thing here too.

Duke- Great school. In North Carolina by some of my family(2 aunt/uncle/cousin combos and my grandmother). Mountains round thar too.

Emory- In Atlanta. Awesome city. School's got lotsa resources. Just recently began to look at this school...

----iffy-----

Hopkins- Anotha Neato nerdy school in Maryland. Dunno about JHU right now. Maybeeeee... Opinion?

Vandy- Dad keeps talkin bout Vandy for some reason, plus its a decent enough school, and near mountains. I'm just biased towards anyplace in Tennessee. hehe

NYU- In NY. Nice enough school I guess.

UK- born in Lexington. My parents, grandparents, and a very large portion of my family all went there(none in the current generation) Close enough to mountains. Could get back to muh roots!!! hehe

FLORIDA SCHOOLS- I live in FL. I'm kinda sick of FL though and would like to get out. Plus, most of the schools above are prolly better institutions and I want to go to a pretty decent school so I can PROVE I can handle tough coursework despite "CC work"(omg!!!). But nevertheless, these schools are cheaper because of in-state and might be full rides. Hmm

Miami(FL)- Good biochem/chem programs. I live in FL a bit north and goin to school here would give me the opportunity to mess around lots in the Keys. Beach too..

UF- In FL. Bestest public university in FL. Umm... lotsa people go there... and their med school hates their own undergrad students. Riiiiiight? hehe(but lotsa people I know have gone there/are going and I think I want to explore other 'distant lands' and meet new interesting people... and snow ski! heh) :D

---------------------

So that's a lot of schools! Many are highly ranked and prestigious and like I said, I'm fairly certain I could be accepted to 'most' of them(I'm not tooooo cocky hehe) Just figured I'd come to SDN also for advice seeing as how many of you have attended these here neato schools.

Help me win this battle of schools raging in my head!! Maybe then.... maybe... I'll sleep at night.....

cheers,

me

you should probably post this question after you get accpeted to these schools. it seems a little premature to think so much about these schools when you don't even know if you'll get in yet. your grades may be great, but some of the schools you listed are ranked very high. good luck when you apply next year!
