hello! i'm not sure if this is the right place to ask, but if anyone who attends the university of maryland can give me some housing suggestions, i would really appreciate it.
i checked the housing site on the school's website and there are just so many options. plus, i've learned from experience that the photo gallery and virtual tours given on particular websites may not necessarily be all that reliable

thanks in advance for your help!

Here is what a UMB student wrote to me about the subject.

Pascal Row is the on campus housing which is right next to Pharmacy Hall and Pharmacy Learning Center and nice if you don't like to commute. Many other students live at Ridgeley's Delight for around $450-600/month which is down MLK and can be walked and using the campus shuttle.

Some other apartments are Loch Raven Apartments and Belvedere apartments which are in North Baltimore and off the bus line. There are some housing in Columbia but it's more expensive. The best thing to do is to contact Ms. Heather Petrelli or Ms. Margaret Hayes in Student Affairs for information on housing in and around baltimore, or going on the baltimoresun.com for housing/apartment search.

Most of my other friends who don't live on campus either already have a home in Maryland, commute from D.C., or found some odd places via websites or roommate wanted ads.

Hey, I found my current roomates on the University of Maryland website.. there is a link for "other housing" under housing options.. there are a lot of roomate listings ect. Basically, if you want to live off campus.. don't go too far west of MLK Blvd. or too far south of Washigton Blvd. . otherwise your OK... And parking for commuters costs about $100 per month overall, so consider that in your decision also. There are alot of houses/apartments within walking distance. Generally, you can pay anywhere from $300/mnt to $1500 + per month depending on what you are looking for. Goodluck! let me know if you have any more questions!
