I was told by my home residency director that once I got on the interview trail programs would be trying to recruit me and send me **** to try to get me to go to their program. So far, I've only received a tote bag at University of Michigan and a t-shirt at Pitt both on the interview day.

Anyone get anything cool?

I got a nice travel coffee mug, carabeaner (or however you spell it) key chain, and rubber duckie from one program...and like 50 flash drives from the others.

I got a sticky note from one of the programs. (literally, a single sticky with a name and contact number)

(no treats for me - I was lucky to get information in a folder)

I got a nice aluminum water bottle, key chain light, key chain hand sanitizer holder, assorted bags, 50,000 flash drives, t-shirt, refrigerator magnet...etc. Most has already been donated to charity or friends.

Going to ACEP is by far the best place for Schwag. Every year I have to throw stuff out because I can't fit my ill-gotten gains into my suitcase.

I stock up on pens from the vendors, and it's my supply for the entire year. I haven't had to buy a single pen in 3 years.

I expected more places to buy us alcohol. Out of 10 interviews, only two footed the EtOH bill for me. What gives? Prior classes talked about interview season like it was an all-expenses paid Mardi Gras.

Out of 12 interviews, only 2 lacked alcohol but they also lacked a social night. For those programs, you know who you are... please see commandment #6

My schwag count overall was 2 pens, a flash drive, and a hand sanitizer+holder, mostly all from the same program.

Man, interviews must be changing. I don't seem to remember getting many goodies at all on the interview trail.

Except high travel bills, of course. Those I remember.

I didn't get a single flash drive, but I got alcohol at all places except 1, and at that location the residents covered the bill (after I'd unknowingly ordered a fair number of drinks -- thanks guys!).

Let's see, I got folders from pretty much all my interviews... some nice, some plain. I got some pens, a travel coffee mug, carabeaner, a bar of chocolate (which has long since been eaten). No flash drives, T-shirts. EtOH was paid for at most socials.

It might be just me, but I think floppy babies would be terrible schwag to give away at interviews.

ETOH at all but one(14/15). One place provided more than enough to make up for the one that didn't give any.
Goodies:Flashdrive, mugs, water bottle, pens, small portfolio with name plate(Dr. XXXXXXXXX M.D.) and a laser pointer/powerpoint USB-pen combo thing to page up/down during presentations. Actually used it a few days after getting it to do give a lecture.
