Hi there you guys/girls,

I will be attending dental school next year and I was going to take some classes now to help get a head start. In your opinions, would it be more beneficial if I were to take a "Human Anatomy" course or a "Head and Neck Anatomy" course. Hope you guys have time to weigh in your opinions. Thanks in advance!!!

Biochemistry is an excellent course to get you "ahead" of the game. Af far as anatomy I am not sure.

Good luck!

definitely head and neck...cuts out alot of unnecessary junk. In Columbia, the dental students take 2 exam blocks worth of head and neck anatomy while the other exam block is focused on the thoracic and lumbar regions. For the med students on the other hand, they have only have 1 block worth of head and neck while they have the additional exam block on sacral region and lower extremeties, which is kinda pointless for dental students. If you learn head and neck anatomy well, you'll have a much much easier time during the 1st year of dental school since head and neck is probably the most difficult anatomical region to study. If you have the chance, definitely go for it.
