I noticed some of the schools that I have/will be interviewed require biochem, but there are two types of biochem at my school:
Type1: BIOC 108: Intro to bio chem (this is the first class that biochem major students take)
Type2: Chem330: Intro to bio chem (this is the class that chemistry students take in their junior year)

So which one do I take? Does it matter? It seems like the bioc 108 is much easier because there are a bunch of freshmen in there.

Well im sure you could take the intro course, but I think the upper level course is what the D-schools want to see.

UNLV requires biochem but no lab is required with it.

you'll want to take the biological based biochem...which is the one for non-chem majors and does not have a lab.

both of these have labs...I still don't know! As long as it says biochem in our transcript it's permitted, right? How do they know which is which?

I would suggest calling the schools--I have the same dilemma.
CHEM 27~~ Biological Chemistry
BIOL 58~~ Principle of Biochemistry

My roommate applied to UF and asked this question, they told him the 2000 level course will be sufficient, but he still going to take the 5800 level course.

I know you will want the class that teaches you the things that will help you most in Dschool. Take the hard one and you will have an easier time in year one.

Unless you go to case where you don't go to biochem class at all!
