a number of people have told me to take chem 30 if i'm pharm-bound (and I know I'm pharm-bound) while others have told me that the chem 14 series is fine. I'm gettng pretty worried because I'm enrolled in chem 14 and I start class (ucla) in like two weeks so if i need to switch to chem 20 i need to do it soon. Anyone got any info on this? thanks!

Those numbers aren't going to mean anything to anyone unless they go to the same school as you. At my school, gen chem was the 120 series, and organic was the 250 series. Anyway, this question seems like one for your advisor.

hey linda
i left you a voice message..i dont know if you got it so here's what i know. I double checked both USC, UCSF and UCSD and the 14 series is acceptable. You also save time because the 14 series has one less lab class than the 20 series. As for UOP, they require the 20 series but double check with veronica semler because they may make an exception. I personally took the 20 series and found it to be quite difficult (you know my story about that). call me if you need more help

Thanks everyone....I still don't know what to do because some people say it's okay to take the chem 14 while some say take the chem 20 because its more pharmacy related or hard science. So I guess i'll wait it out and talk to a counselor before switching. Thanks to everyone who helped out!!!

Especially to Dloi, you're the best 👍

Hi, I took the 20 series and I found it to be difficult. From what I heard from other people, the 14 series is really easier and you probably wont feel as overwhelmed by taking it. I know for Math if you take the higher series (ie 31) and decided to switch to a lower series (ie 3) it is possible to do so, but not from 3 to 31. I do not know if the same rule applies to Chem series but always be sure to ask someone.
