First off, this is a tongue and cheek post so all of you itching to flame out there...back off.

Onto the important stuff. When choosing an all important specialty to enter, certain variables must be addressed and ranked in importance (lifestyle, loot, patient contact, etc..) but one common overlooked arena is that of a docs ability to pull wool (attract the opposite gender). More specifically, in which specialty are doctors most successful in doing so.

My guess would be plastic surgeons for the male docs and maybe...urology or proctology for the female docs.

Any thoughts?

Tooth

surgeons, despite being mostly short, b/c they're aggressive and confident

short? a short surgeon at my school's program is about 5'10", unless you're talking about an ophthalmologist or urologist.

Personally... I think the EM's get the most play...

#1 - We tend to be a not so tough on the eyes group
#2 - We're a happy group, b/c shift work allows for a personal life
#3 - We actually have TIME to get some, while the rest of the hospital is on call 😉

making a difference in people's lives as good as getting tail??? that doesn't sound like the dr. cuts that i know and love!

but, i guess it could depend on the tail that you are getting....in some cases even dental work could be better than certain tail...

anyhow, i think a study should be done on this, and before i go through the match. lifestyle, my a$$. quantity and quality of tail comes first, and if i need to work 120 hours a week to get it, i just might go for it!

I think EM gets the most tail, I can't tell you how many times during my interviews I was asked to lean over the tail and pull down my panties.

Q, DO

Yeah, nothing would get me hot like a female urologist/proctologist...

Idiopathic: "Hi. Would you inspect my diseased penis/scrotum/urethra/bladder/prostate/rectum/anus and oh, by the way..."

Doctor Lady: "Oh, thank goodness I am so hot...Let me move my large breasts away so that I can inspect your orifices (orifici?) and hopefully then you will want to sleep with me!"

Psychiatrists get the most tail. Why? They know exactly what women want to hear and they have time to spend with them. Plus out of all the seductive patients, some of them have to be hot.

I would like to boast for my own specialty (surgery) because we are blunt and not afraid to say what we want, however (young ones, hold your ears) you are really not in the mood after working 120 hours a week. No matter how hot the guy is, I'm not thinking about getting him in bed; I'm just daydreaming about getting to go to bed. That's just the way it is.

From what I've seen, the docs with the most success pulling chicks (outside of the hospital, that is) would be those with the time, $$$ , energy, and car 😎 to do it. Doesn't hurt either if they're in decent shape ! Which of course leaves just the Gas Passers, in my opinion....(as long as they're not passing gas outside of the OR)

THe problem in that field (other than the obvious icky diseases of the abovementioned orifices) is all the erectile dysfunction....not a lot of "complete" tail to be had.
And it takes a very secure man to date a woman who examines and handles penises for a living.

i gotta put a plug in for orthopedics...women just love us 😀

After reading these posts it becomes apparent what you begin to forget while in medical school.

There are girls out there!

Man...and I thought pseudomembranous colitis was exciting...

OK...back to studying. GI on Monday.

We female surgeons are a mighty hot group, let me tell you. Yeah, baby yeah!

If you want hot single moms and you're male, go into pediatrics in a major city, where there are lots of hot single moms. Doesn't really work for female pediatricians in quite the same way.

And urologists or proctologists don't really get to look at penises of anyone under the age of 50, it seems. o

How 'bout someone ranks all the specialties according to the Tail / Nookie Factor (TNF, as in TNF-alpha male)? I think Pathology goes last 😛

Obviously Ob/gyn gets the most tail. Whether they like it or not is another story.

I agree. The MILFs are where it's at.

Let me start off by saying...........IT IS ABOUT TIME SOMEONE ASKED THIS QUESTION OUT LOUD!!!! Amen to you TiggidyTooth!

Well, as an aspiring surgeon-to-be i gotta throw my vote in favor of surgery/plastic surgery. I never really thought about using the fact that i was a medical student / doctor to my advanatge before (it always seemed a bit transparent and cheesy to me), but over the last couple of months as medical school is finally winding down and i have come to realize that I am gonna be a doctor in a few months, I have found that when I tell women that I am gonna be a surgeon with an eye at Plastic Surgery, i get the most amazing reactions. It is phenomenal. The first thing they always ask is "Do you think you would be able to do<blank> for me?", and they proceed to tell me how they want their boobs done, or nose job's , etc. , and I can promise you these are not ugly women who are asking................... I havent utilized it to the fullest extent yet, but I plan on spending my fourth year doing some reaerch on the subject.

Having said that, i also think that no matter what specialty you are in, if you have the cash, and the things that come with it (cool pad, fancy car, etc.), that tends to make a BIG impression also. So i guess Rads would have to be up there as they seem to be making major bank lately. I guess Derm/ent/ortho would be up there too.

Let me finish by saying that QuinnNSU is awesome! I havent laughed that hard at a post in a long time. I can just imagine her sitting in an interview with an older, dignified EM PD, and all of a sudden he busts out with, "So why dont you just lean over and pull those panties down!" Hilarious!!!!!.........................Maybe i should consider applying to emergency medicine...............

or read some of quinnnsu's previous posts🙄

I am not sure what that means, and i dont think I really care to be honest. i just wanted to say Chill out man, i was just joking!

Don't worry, be happy!

Any legitimate medical degree buys an awful lot of brownie points. Any doc ought to be able to get nookie pretty easily. If this turns out not to be the case, then you're just not playing your cards right.

amen to that! gimme my MD, I ready to go in coach!

P.S. Can't we all just get along................. 😛

So did you guys do it all for the nookie?

I gotta second plastic surgery. Not my field per say, but I did a rotation in this and it was one serious T&A fest. Just the office staff alone was um...visually appealing.

It could also mean that said MD is so repulsive that no one wants to get anywhere near that person unless they have to. We had one pathologist at the hospital where I worked that looked and sounded just like Igor from Frankenstein, enough said...

Sounds like he was definitely not playing his cards right.

Firstly lemme say this is good question. The answer is it doesn't matter- b/c an MD is an MD- it is only inside the hospital that people know the difference. So I 'd say ER is a good field or any field with a good lifestyle can get you some tail. To be honest with you, I'd rather bang a hot Family Med doc that an ugly neurosurgeon- ie your not just gonna get tail based on you specialty.

this thread reminds me why I keep coming back to read these posts - pure comedy.

Go-on Jessica99!!! At least SOMEONE finally got it right!

Depends on the personality...there are some legendary RESIDENTS, for cryin' out loud, in some of the hospitals that I've worked at. And they're in all kinds of specialties.

I think you're more likely to have a good wingman if you go into ortho or EM. It's not going to be easy to meet girls if all the other male residents you work with are afraid to go talk to girls at the bars with you ( I'm not going to mention any specific specialties here).

Apologies for the off-topic post, but this reminds me of a problem that I have encountered recently. Have any of you been faced with the problem of having a team member chronically s*it his pants during rounds? How did you handle it? At first I thought our patients were exceptionally stinky until I took a direct hit by an SBD released right under my nose. I got in the habit of standing away from this particular fellow so no one would think I was the one with the loose rectum! Damn, I am having alot of people problems in third year.

Dude, that is SO hilarious, although it must suck for you. For the record, this guy doesn't just pass gas, but actually craps his pants?

Ridiculous................I wonder if he crapped his pants during his med school interview?

could we please get back to the original topic? I need to pick a specialty!

SURGERY/PLASTICS.................

Don't know from personal experience, but my guess is optho.

Thinking D.O.s might have an edge over M.Ds in the nookie department. The knowledge of OMM (therapeutic touch) must make D.O.s hot in bed.

"D.O. me you dirty D.O." Yeah I can picture that. Any D.O.s care to share on this theory?

Cleo

Id definatly have to agree w/that. Soft tissue techniques, its done. OMM = learn how to give a really good massage. And EVERYBODY loves a good massage.

I second that, my girl is a D.O. and she can give massages that can both put me to sleep and make me splooge in my pants. I LOVE it. By the way ladies, I'm gonna do ENT w/plastics, so I'll have bank and I've been told I'm good looking by more than 3 girls (like 5 🙂 ), so get it while it's hot 🙂

So OMM=massage?

ahhh yes.... we D.O.s learn "soft tissue techniques" amongst other things

All the chicks seem to dig it!

But seriously.. it comes down to cash, cars, clothes.... and those who have time to hit on chicks... women can be shallow too

I vote ophtho, rads, emed, plastics..... actually.. the 50+ y.o. pathologist at our school keep bringing hot chicks to the parties.

love the post cleo 😀 ......you're absolutely right...there's nothing like sacral motion testing and pubic symphisis muscle energy to get you in the mood!

Quoteing one of my OMM profs' ..."nothing shows you care like popping the pubes"

I think the docs who get the most ass are the ones who have the most free time. Hehe. When the surgeons are in the OR the rest of us are out there working our deal.

With that said, the non-patient care fields like ER, anesthesia, rads, and psych probably get laid most often.

Anesthesiology Motto: "You've slept with the rest now sleep with the best..."

Thumbs down on the optho-No man who messes with eyeballs all day is hopping in the sack with me. Same feelings with the male OB/GYNs, they've seen too much (although I do have a handsome male classmate who was hit on while doing a pelvic-YIKES!)

A word for those of you who are out and looking-RULE 1- Do NOT sleep with the nurses.
My M1 year my roommate was a nurse and hooked up with one on the M4's-I got to hear all of the BAD (ie technique and size) details. Now he is a chief and I can't even look him in the eye.

If you are good (both technique/size) this may not be such a bad thing to have all the nurses talking about.... hehe...that may actually serve to increase your call-room door-knock frequency.

(I will neither confirm nor deny that I fit into this category but thought I would throw that out there.) 🙂
