Which GPA do schools use? Before or after the academic update?

Do most schools take into account your fall semester GPA after the academic update, or do they just use the one that is mailed to them?

wondering whether it is worth it to retake a class in the fall if they won't even use the updated grade?

They first look and early offers go w/ the initial GPA, if you are interviewing after AU then they would consider that one...........however be aware that if accepted before AU and your GPA drops below their acceptance level you could have the offer withdrawn. Usually their policy states the final GPA - undergrad degree needs to be in line in order to attend and maintain your acceptance. Check w/ the individual schools

Depends on the school, some don't even take the AU into account while others do. Contacting the school to find out is your best bet.
