Which interview has changed your view the most?

Stanford's interview was very individualized...there were only 4 of us interviewing that day! According to my interviewers, that kind of treatment is reflective of the kind of personalized education you receive at Stanford. Very positive experience!

I would have to say Rosalind Franklin. I came into the interview with very neutral feelings...even more so on the negative side because of the school's location. But was soon as I got around to talking to students in their BMS program, I started changing my mind. They were all so happy to be there and all absolutely loved their classes and their faculty. Many professors stopped by and knew some students on a first name basis, including the dean. My second interviewer was an M-4 who gave me so many great highlights of the school and seemed to be extremely happy there. The cafeteria was great, the students were happy and excited, and i loved the small community feel. The match lists are amazing and their students also score extremely well on Step 1. By the end of the day, I had completely changed my mind about the program!

UC Davis hands down! I'm from CA but haven't spent much time in Sacramento. I didn't have any expectations about the school going into it. I was absolutely blown away! The students and other interviewees were just nice people. I liked the campus and the fact that its not in Davis. I'm more a big city girl anyway. The education building is really new, the lecture hall was excellent, and the histo/path stuff is all digital. Frankly, microscopes give me headaches. The anatomy lab is about a 5 min walk away but its a new building, didn't reek, and had some natural light coming in. My faculty interviewer was fantastic - the best I had compared to all other schools. The cost of living in Sacramento is great and there are a lot of outdoor activities. I walked away from this one totally excited and had the gut feeling that I could be really happy at this school.

Interviewing at Baylor didn't necessarily change my view, since I thought it would be awesome. I didn't realize how much stuff is in the TMC.

Like someone else said a while ago, Baylor spoiled me for other schools. After Baylor, even Vanderbilt didn't seem as cool as I thought it would be.

Even though I might be biased by saying it, I think others who have been there (and not accepted/locals/dying to go there since day 1) might agree, I would say: Wake Forest = most obnoxious system and interview impression.

Reason? "Stress" interview (yeah, it must be meant to put pressure on the applicants 🙄), horrible directions to your interview/waiting location, and a very strange (what I like to call) "good ole boy" vibe.

BUT, the students were pretty friendly and the food was great (Chik-fil-a!).

That being said, it was pretty negative for me, even before the eventual rejection.

Winston Salem is all about the good ole boy. It's one of the most segregated cities in the state to this day.

Sorry you felt that way. I didn't get that vibe and actually liked the school a lot ( but no I'm not a die hard lol). Honestly though, I didn't get a stress interview at all. Everyone I met was really nice and a couple of my interviewers and I had really great conversations. Winston Salem is sooo tiny though ( then again, I'm from LA lol) so I understand where you might get that vibe.

Wright State. I went in pretty neutral and definitely not expecting much but I ended up really liking it. The students were great, the facilities were brand new and quite impressive. I could see myself being happy there.

USUHS!! I thought I would really like it there from what I had read, but the entire interview day was awful for me. I didn't like the campus, the curriculum, the overall feel. I would have loved to go to DC, but I didn't even finish the 20 page security check that is required for acceptance, because it was such an awful fit for me.

the most positive surprise was pitt...really impressive across the board: facilities, faculty, hospital

the most negative was probably vanderbilt

Most positive change - Emory. I knew I'd like it, but everything was so amazing.

Most negative change - Mount Sinai. To be fair, the way they presented the school was fine, but my interactions with a couple students (the rest seemed very cool) made me pretty uneasy.

yep...was expecting more from this but I left disappointed

Medical College of Wis. I almost didn't go to this interview...I mean, it's in Wisconsin, land of the cows and cheese. But I ended up really loving the school, the student body, the faculty, ect. Now I have to decide between my cheaper state school and here.

ECU interviewers made me feel completely unwelcome and the students kept giving petty reasons for why ECU is better than UNC. i went in excited but left very unenthusiastic

haha that's funny, I find that happens in states where there is a "brand name" state school and a lesser-known one.

i had the opposite experience! i thought it was exactly what i wanted, but when i went there . . . by the end i couldnt wait to go home.

to be completely fair, it was not so much their fault as a series of bad things happening. i didn't really enjoy my experience with a student host the night before. the next day right before the interviews, at lunch, i accidentally ate a bite of a real burger that had been labeled as a veggie burger (like i didnt already have enough indigestion-feeling from nervousness! ughh!) then the guy giving us the tour, first- got lost (wtf?) and then when i asked if we could see the anatomy lab- he looked at his paper and was like, uh well, its not on the list, so i guess not. (okay . . . ) then my interviewer grilled me. then the afternoon presentation where they spent forever talking about our credit reports really turned me off because i felt like they were trying harder to just find people to pay tuition to them than really caring who their students were.

i think partly, deep down i don't really want to leave chicago and i did not realize it until i came to this interview. luckily, i got into a chicago school i love. (FWIW, Rush gave me a better inmpression than i was expecting, even though I was already expecting to love it. i loved it more than i thought possible!) im sure part of it was also a feeling of relief that i found a school that just felt right for me . . . UIC did not.
