.....I think a B+ is better. You know why? B/c an A- is like a silver medal in the olympics. Silver medal means you lost first place, whereas a bronze medal means you Won third place. Similarly, an A- means you were so close, close enough to smell it, but you lost that A. Whereas a B+ means you weren't close enough to get the A anyway, (you were nowhere near being in a smellable vicinty), so you feel like you gained a B+. 👍. Now, all I've got to do is get AMCAS to accept this theory. B+'s unite, our day is coming!!

hahaha...although I think an A- definitely looks better than a B+, I think a B looks better than a B+. The "+" stands out too much😉

Trust me! If you are coming from a tough school and applying to med school, you need to squeeze those grade sheets to the last drop i.e. I will take an A- anyday over a B+. I despise those B+'s.😎

when did a lower grade become better then a higher grade?.....LOL

Normally I'd be ok with either....except where I am now only has A, B, C etc. So no +/- makes a BBBIIIIGGG difference about whether I'm ok with a true B+ or A-.

well, a B is a B is a B is a B

and A is an A is an A is an A.

Mathematically, an A- is 3.7. A B+ is 3.3. Guess which one will bring down your GPA.

I always assumed A- was 3.5

Oh well

I will take an A- over a B+ any day.

Last I checked, A is higher than B, regardless of +/- signs.

If you need to ask this then I don't think med school is for you. What is better a died patient or live patient.🙄

A- or B+??? Neither...Premeds have to make all A+s and everyone knows that

Threads like these make me wanna take a break from this forum...

In my opinion, an A is always better than B.

i don't get the OP's logic (because there is no logic)

A-=3.7
B+=3.3

A- is always better.

I've read a lot of dumb arguments on this forum, but this one takes the cake.

So does that mean a 3.5 is an amourphous grade?

You assume that interviewers look at your grades individually, which only happens with multiple "C or lower" grades in a semester.

In fifth grade I got an A- on a report on pandas. The dude sitting next to me got a B+ for his report on some other less important endangered species. For a moment I was really bummed, cause the + seemed like a good thing whereas my - seemed like a bad thing. Four seconds later I realized my thinking was flawed. Perhaps getting some fifth graders to work for AMCAS will help your cause.

are you high?

and...

IBTL 😀

Which is better, a pile of money, or a punch in the face?

(masochists need not reply)

just read the title of the thread.......B+ or A-.........B+ or A-........i mean come on....

does this logic apply to the C+/B- borderline?

a word to the wise: don't take honors orgo in your first semester at college, even if the placement tests tell you that you should 😡

Is this really an honest question? Go ahead and "win" your bronze medal...I'm going for Silver at least....

Which is better - a patient you ALMOST saved or one you BARELY saved?
