If you got into Med School then consider yourself in the top percentage of applicants.
Why not use the computer utilized by the top 5% of computer users, MAC!

Wait, come to think of it now, my Powermac isn't compatible with the Sobig virus or the MyDoom worm. Damn, guess I should get a Dell.

GET A MAC!!!! 😀
I have always had a PC, until mine was stolen last summer (with my personal statement on it that I had stupidly not backed up). Anyway, afterwards I got a 12 inch Powerbook and DAMN this thing is sweet! I can't believe I suffered through Windows for that long.
The new OS X Panther is awesome, you can get all your office programs on Mac, iTunes and all that stuff is hands down the best, Bluetooth is included (and I use it all the time now for things like sending files to friends or syncing up my address book with my phone), and everything works amazingly well together. Plus, my PB is so small and the battery lasts for so long that I take it everywhere and actually use it.
Mac: 😍

I had a powerbook G4 for a year... but it was a real piece of crap... not enough games... can't run a crap load of programs available for pc's... so I sold that one and got an IBM thinkpad T40 last year... and I gotta say... PC's ROCK!

No the top 5% use Linux or a BSD, something where you can actually control and tweak every aspect of the OS, not like a mac where you basically have no choice and pay more.

This is true. Linux is the way to go. Be hardcore. 🙂
(but for us novices out there, get a PC, and save yourself some unwanted headaches. 😉)

Isn't MacOS 10+ basically UNIX with "MacOS" as an optional GUI? I have a mac but I'm running Xwindows.
