Hi guys! I recently received 3 offers for summer 2013, but I'm not sure which one I should go with. One of them is international (although not a third-world country or anything). Here are my current choices:

1) Working as an intern in the Bureau of Health for an Asian, non-developing nation (although I wonder if my position will be reduced to largely translation work)
2) Working as an intern in the U.S. Department of Health
3) Working as a volunteer/intern/coordinator in my city's local Department of Public Health (one of the three largest cities in the U.S.)

Sorry for the ridiculously anal question, but I honestly have no clue. There are perks for each one, but my brain is in hibernation mode and can't seem to crunch which one would be a better choice. I guess I'd like to know which one would look best for med school, as all premed students are innately wired to automatically think. =(

I appreciate all the advice you guys give, and thank you in advance for any help! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend. =)

(Edited to add: how important are international experiences for top med universities anyway? People left and right are telling me I need international experience to get into a top school, but I don't know... is that really valid?)

Not sure why you've made this so "anonymous" by not listing the nation or city, but meh.

Do the one you'd be most happy to do, or the one you're most passionate about. All 3 are good for med school.

International exp is probably good if YOU plan to do something in that field in the future.

The bolded isn't true. You can do many of the same activities abroad that you can do in the states and medical schools don't seem to care which you do.
