My parents divorced and remarried. I don't live with either parent nor receive ANY financial support from either parent. I'm wondering which set of parent/stepparent's info I should provide?

On the top of section three it says that you should choose the parent who provided the most support to you during the most recent year you still received support. (Even if it has been for a long time). If they remarried, you also have to provide the income of the stepparent.

my situation is similar but different. My mother passed away and my dad remarried. I spoke with my financial aid officer and was told that parental HOUSEHOLD information must be included. Which sucks because my stepmom (I think) makes a good deal more than my dad does, reducing my eligibility for need based scholarships. Of course my dad no longer supports me and my stepmom never did. (they got married when I was 20)

By this logic I would assume that you would have to report 4 different incomes. And that is totally unfair, and it sucks.

Anyway, you could get more answers on here than you can shake a stick at but they wouldn't clear this up as well as a single short email to your schools financial aid office.
