I’m thinking about getting a combination of NS, EK, TPR, and Kaplan. Or maybe just picking from one company. Which do you think is more reflective of the real exam?

In terms of similarity to the actual exam, I would recommend the following in this order:

1. AAMC
2. Kaplan
3. NextStep
4. Anything else.

It is best to center your practice on the practice problems from the AAMC. You want to develop an AAMC mindset for test day and not a Kaplan, NextStep, or Princeton Review Mindset. For this reason, I would recommend using all the AAMC Practice Problems and then supplementing with a variety of exams from a variety of companies.

Isn’t altius said to be the most similar to the actual AAMC material?

I was under the impression that there are certain NS and Altius exams were very close to AAMC level in difficulty and scoring, but definitely not all of them.

They all miss badly on CARS, but the science sections from Altius are excellent. They have the best third party tests because they train the way you think rather than rewarding or punishing content knowledge.

Thanks everyone I plan on getting a combination of Next Step and Altius after further research. Kaplan helped in content review but I heard their tests are much harder and even out of scope.
