Next year I'll have the opportunity to lead a tutor group for either Bio 1, Bio 2, Chem 1, or Chem 2. Obviously, teaching the material will really solidify it in my brain, so I'm trying to take advantage of this.

Here is the material my college covered in each class:

Bio 1
INTRODUCTION
Introduction: Themes in the Study of Life
THE CHEMISTRY OF LIFE
The Chemical Context of Life
Water and Life
Carbon and Molecular Diversity of Life
The Structure and Function of Large Biological Molecules
THE CELL
A Tour of the Cell
Membrane Structure & Function
An Introduction to Metabolism Cellular Respiration and Fermentation Photosynthesis
Cell Communication
The Cell Cycle
GENETICS
Meiosis and Sexual Life Cycles Mendel and the Gene Idea
The Chromosomal Basis of Inheritance The Molecular Basis of Inheritance From Gene to Protein
Regulation of Gene Expression Viruses
Biotechnology
Genomes and their Evolution

Bio 2
MECHANISMS OF EVOLUTION
Descent with modification: A Darwinian View of Life The Evolution of Populations
The Origin of Species
The History of Life on Earth
THE EVOLUTIONARY HISTORY OF BIOLOGICAL DIVERSITY
Phylogeny and the Tree of Life
Bacteria and Archaea
Protists
Plant Diversity I: How Plants Colonized Land Plant Diversity II: The Evolution of Seed Plants Fungi
An Introduction to Animal Diversity Invertebrates
Vertebrates
ANIMAL FORM AND FUNCTION
Animal Nutrition
Circulation and Gas Exchange Osmoregulation and Excretion Hormones and the Endocrine System Animal Reproduction
Nervous System

Chem 1
The Foundations of Chemistry
Chemical Formulas & Reaction/Composition Stoichiometry
Some Types of Chemical Reactions
Atomic Structure
Chemical Periodicity/Periodic Table Trends
Chemical Bonding
Molecular Structure & Covalent Bonding Theories
Reactions in Aqueous Solutions I: Acids, Bases, and Salts
Gases, Liquids, Solids, Solutions

Chem 2
Solutions
Chemical Thermodynamics
Chemical Kinetics
Chemical Equilibrium
Chemistry of Acids and Bases
Other Aspects of Aqueous Equilibria
Electron Transfer Reactions(Electrochemistry)

So basically my question is, which class should I know like the back of my hand to help me cut down on the most MCAT reviewing when I'm a junior?

your bio 1 course would be the most useful.

bio is the most covered since it's the majority of the BS section while PS is split evenly between chem/physics.

your bio 2 course is important for evolution and such, but there is no taxonomy/classification/plants stuff on the mcat.

Bio 1 hands down, that stuff will also come in handy during medical school, albeit for only like the first 2 weeks

Yeah dood, the Biological Sciences section has hardly any o-chem - it's way heavier on bio. So I think there's a bigger payoff with knowing bio, since you'll see more of it on the MCAT than anything else.

Wow, Bio 1 covers that much stuff? Bio 1 for sure.

Bio I or Chem I, but I would personally do Bio. I tutored intro bio for 2 years before the MCAT and spent literally zero time studying for the bio section because of it.

Bio 1 or Chem 2 - both will be high yield on their respective sections. I would choose the one that you're the weakest in.
