This is my third semester of college, and have been an accounting major.

I've decided I want to be a Doctor, and I've thought about it my whole life. I never thought I was good enough, and didn't have the looks or the brains. I've now decided I will do whatever it takes to make it to Med School.

My GPA isn't very good currently, but I am going to turn it around.. I want to succeed.

Is it smart to go the Pre-Med UG Route? Or should I major in Biology or Chemistry, or even Psychology?
I know all types of majors get in, but I'm wondering what will push me forward.

I'm going to CC to take classes and push my GPA up. Looking for Advice, I did search previous posts, but haven't really seen anything.

This is for both MD and DO.

You're still very early on in your college career. Personally, I would change majors to something different although if you really enjoy accounting then keep doing that. The advantage to being a Bio major or something similar is that it allows you to take all of the pre-req's as well as more upper level science courses where success is a big positive to adcoms.

My advice would be to start out by taking a couple of the pre-req's like Intro to Bio and Chem. If you do well then take more and more. At that point you can worry about changing your major. The next thing I would do is shadow a doctor in order to find out if you really do want to go into medicine.
