Me = Tufts, Stony Brook, UMDNJ, UConn, Boston, Columbia, NYU

I'm really nervous since only 3 out of the 10 schools I applied to contacted me :scared: And I know I'm getting a rejection letter from Columbia based on their policy of interviewing applicants with 22+ DAT scores only

Anyone in the same situation?

I've only got two interviews out of the 19 that I applied to. 😀

Congrats! Where are you be interviewed? Was your app sent out late by AADSAS? Mine was 9/26.

Mine was sent out the same day as yours. I have one tomorrow at Baylor :scared: and one at Pittsburgh on the 9th of Jan 😀 .

Best of luck on your interview tomorrow 🙂 👍 I sure you'll rock it :meanie:

I have one at Buffalo this Friday...I hope they go easy on me

Remember you just need one acceptance! 🙂

I know but an interview does not guarantee an acceptance.

Not sure if I should start getting nervous....I've only heard back from 1 (out of 10) school and I have an interview with them in Dec. I submitted my application in the end of August. How long, on average, does it take for schools to call you back for an interview...if ever??? 😱
Did someone say all interview spots are filled out??? 😱

I was contacted for an interview about a month after my app was mailed out. I'm pretty sure most interview spots are filled but it depends on which schools you applied to.

i applied to five schools and only have one interview so far. don't know if i should be worried or not.. its just the waiting game is getting pretty darn tiring... 🙁

Geez...are you serious?? Is there anyway to find out?
I thought I had a pretty good chance for at least a couple of interviews...I applied to Arizona, UNLV, UOP, OHSU, Tufts, Houston, New Jersey.

Interview spots are not all filled up. Don't worry. For some schools that's the case but a lot of dental schools fill their classes late and interview into March so don't stress too much.

I agree... some schools haven't even started the interview process and some just barely started it.

I ahve not heard from most schools i expected to hear from but I have heard from schools I didn;t even think they would even give me an interview. This is really really strange process and you don;t know how schools do their ****. I mean no interview from BU, TUFTS, NYU(not interviewing, may be), UDM.... but interviews from Michigan, UMKC(out of state), Indiana (out of state), Temple(i expected this one), NOVA(i though i had 50% chance of getting an interview).

So my point is that this whole process sucks and you have no idea how schools go about their business. What they like to see and what they don't. I know few students with a lot better stats than I do and applied before I did and have gotten rejections from some of the schools I have interviewd at. Now this is strange.

I applied to 10 schools, received 3 interviews so far...

i've applied to a bunch of schools, and heard nothing, except an interview at case for the alternate list, so that doesn't really count

UOP said their interview schedule has been booked through January, and at this point the class is full already. All additional interviews are for alternate positions.

ARGH!!!!!

If you've really interviewed at all those places that you listed, why in the world do you have to interview at USC? And why do you have to vent here, where there are many applicants who haven't even received one interview invitation?? You really are childish and annoying.

Interviewed at 4 of the 12 I applied to...still waiting to hear from the rest!

That sucks! I was hoping to hear from UOP tho I figured it was getting too late in the game to get into that school. I've got interview invites at 13 of the 16 😱 schools I applied to with only UOP, UNLV, and NYU missing. I'm thinking now I could've been more selective in applying but it has allowed me the opportunity to see how great some schools are.

spamtoit , what are your stats?? GPA and DAT

zactly. 👍

UOP, Virginia, Louisville, Marquette, Loma Linda. I can't really count Creighton since they don't contact people for interviews and Nova since I did not fill out the secondary for them anyway. Don't really want to live in Florida.

Tufts has been the most perplexing to me. They were the first ones that I heard back from after submitting. I have competitive stats and a pretty thorough resume in general. But nothing since the 1st email..... what's up out there?

Yup, Tufts won't even answer any questions. How do I even know they got my fee?

At this point, tufts is one of the last schools I'm still waiting on. Not even sure if I'm that interested anymore. Hmph.

Submitted AADSAS in mid June tho my commitee LOR did not get sent to the schools til the end of Sept.

I applied to so many schools in part because I've been out of school for a while (since '99) and didn't want to go through this whole process again if I could avoid it. My calculated GPA did turn out to be higher than I realized since it included a bunch of summer and post-bac courses but I didn't think it was steller esp the science (tho I did get a Bio BS at a college with a reputation for being pretty academically rigorous). Hence another reason I applied to so many.

I don't know what Dental Schools look for but in my case I really think being a non-traditional student has helped me a lot. I have been involved in a lot of long-term volunteer work and activities throughout college and beyond, including a year in AmeriCorps, and have been working in a clinical lab for a few years. I also did go through some economic and family hardships growing up that I spoke about in my personal essay. It's nice to think that schools are maybe looking at an applicant as a whole....

Wow are you serious? That's dissapointing to say the least...

what do you mean by the class is full already? do you mean as of right now right now? or after the january interviews? i have an interview in early january so i'm hoping you mean the latter.

I haven't heard from Maryland, Marquette, or NYU. I got interviews at the 7 other places I applied, and I've been to 5 so far.

Tufts just started interviews on Monday, so don't worry if you haven't heard from them yet.

spamtoit, I'm very impressed by the amount of your interview requests. I'm sure your extensive extracurricular experience helped out enormously. I am just finishing up my last year of undergrad and my app wasn't sent out until late sept. I only have one (not really) interview with Case on the alternate list, even though I applied to 15 schools. Hopefully some of your luck will rub off on my application - I'm starting to get worried 😕

Hey Jess - Did you end up hearing from VCU? Weren't you on a thread about safety schools snubbing you? VCU and some others I thought...maybe Maryland for awhile? I remember reading the posts and seeing that many people weren't hearing from the same schools from which I hadn't heard. Anyway, just wondering. 🙂

you will be OK. I mean after the Jan. interviews. If you haven't heard from them by now, their interviews are booked through Jan. already.. but since yours is early Jan. you will be fine I'm sure.

phew. good to hear 🙂 thanks.

I'm still waiting to get contacted by UB, Pittsburgh, Mary Land, San Antonio, and BU!!

I've gotten interviews from 5 of the 8 I've applied. Interview at UF already, and UPitt is on the 21st. Still haven't heard from VCU, ULouisville, and UNC.

Yeah, no word from VCU either. But I like all the schools I've heard from and interviewed at much better than VCU, so i'm not devastated by it. 😛

Still waiting on and losing hope for interviews with USC, BU, NYU, Buffalo, and UDM. UOP, of course, is a lost cause. 👎

Haven't heard from UOP and UNC. What do you think my first choice schools are? Wow, you're absolutely right!

My AADSAS was mailed out to schools on Nov. 4 and I havent recieved any interviews. When should I start to stress out??

You probably won't hear about an interview until mid-December or early January.

They still need to send you letters to submit secondary application fees, so you probably wont hear for interviews for a few more weeks.
