Can you guys please name the schools you know of that require a LOR from a dentist?

My problem:
I asked for a letter from a dentist that I did an internship with, and he had his office manager (also his wife) write it on his behalf. Would this still count since the office manager wrote and signed it instead of the doc?

I would like to know too, I only have 3 letters from professors and one from a volunteer coordinator.

I think as long as the docs signature is on it as if he wrote it, thats all that counts.

I did a bit of research, and found that Nova strongly recommends a letter from a dentist. If anyone has other schools to add, please do!

See, that's the problem. The office manager signed it with HER name. (They are married with the same last name, though.)

I would def have that changed before the letter gets sent bc thats not a letter from a dentist.

I know Tufts requires a dentist's LOR that proves 30 hrs of shadowing.

I don't think any of you are from Texas but I know Baylor Dental School in Dallas requires it for sure -- the only school in Texas who requires a letter from a practicing dentist.

Get the dentist to sign the letter.

Many schools accept dentist letters in addition to the standard LOR's, not in lieu of them.

Schools that I know require one: UNLV, U. of Detroit - Mercy, Loma Linda (also requires a LOR from a clergy member).

how do you get that without going to church or know anyone of the sort? do you still have a chance?

 Clergy? Good thing I am not applying to Loma Linda or I would have a problem. :meanie:

Many times the office manager will write the letter and the dentist will just sign off on it, as was the case with mine. Its not bad though, they're busy people.

UNLV!! Requires a letter from a dentist!! They're hardfast about this!!

Phone call:

Me: Hi, it's februrary and I haven't heard anythign from you guys, I was wondering if I can get an update on my application.

Them: Uh... you never completed it... you didn't have a dentist letter.

Me: Can you just deal with it and read my application anyways?

Them: No.

Me: You make my heart cry.

Them: Bye.

unc requires one. They won't tell you in their documentation that they send you and it doesn't show up on their website (at least that I could find).
