Hello,
At this point in time, I am doing a bit of "freaking out" and I want to know how credible I am for doing so. I am a pre-dental student, with high hopes to successfully get into Dental School! Here's the problem: So my freshman year I attended a private school, the tuition got to be a bit high and I picked up an almost-full time job and this killed my studies. My focus wasn't there and I did very, very poorly in my Gen Chem 2 class. I received a D in the class. And a few other C's in 2 bio classes. The private school life was not for me and I went to a community college, now transferring to state in the fall. I am retaking Gen Chem this summer at the same cc.
As of now, I believe my science GPA would be around a 2.6…maybe even less... and I am now a sophomore, about to be a junior. Surprisingly, my cGPA actually isn't terrible. I did very well in all of my other classes, putting me around a 3.4 there. I have a 3.8 at my CC, and am absolutely motivated to do well in state, I know what it takes now.
I still have courses like OChem and Physics to take, but my question is… Am I totally screwed? How can I fix this to still look competitive? I know how difficult it can be to raise such a low GPA! Please let me know!!! Thanks everyone.
