If you are interested in Primary Care, Stony Brook is the place to go. Tuition at a SUNY med school is comparable to a scholarship from NYMC. UB is also a strong school, but I think you should also factor location into your decision.
You have a nice list of options, so just carefully evaluate your pros/cons, and you'll be fine! Best of luck.

I think Stony Brook 🙂
SUNY's are hiking or have hiked up their tuition - so keep that in mind.
I would choose Stony Brook but NYMC would be very close behind.
Research between all the schools and figure out the pros and cons -both on a general and personal level.

Go with the state school....( Stony Brook ) The tuition is around 10 grand, and that beats NYMC ANY DAY , half scholarship or not ( in my humble opinion ). The average debt med students come OUT with is 130 K....and the approximation is, that for every dollar you borrow, expect to pay back three( !!!!!!!!!!) Be ahead of the game when you graduate !

Actually I was waitlisted at all the SUNY's
But I'm crossing my fingers
During the interview process, I liked SB the best.
I was accepted to NYMC but I would need (want) a scholarship to attend if I got off the waitlist at the other schools.
Do you Know,If you guys are waitlisted before someone else on the high priority, will you be given priority? Or do schools like SB move people around on their waitlist.

SUNY schools are planning to raise tuition, however they would have to pass it through the state legislature. This can be a long process. Most likely they will pass 1 tuition increase during the 4 years that you are at a SUNY school.

Does anybody know about the oncology rotations at SB. Does Stony Brook rotate through any cancer care centers.
I also like UB because of the ability to get a clerkship at Roswell Park.
Plus my entire family lives in Buffalo. And living expensives are nothing.

I thought I was going to be given a straight out acceptance from Buffalo. After living there for 18 years.
Plus I thought my stats were good enough to get in.
I wonder if the SUNY schools talk to each other. And they probably ask the other admissions staff were is this person on the waitlist or if he/she was offered an acceptance.
