Ok, so orientation at UMDNJ starts in a week, and they sent me a whole orientation packet, which is fine. One of the things included is a dress code, which specifies white sneakers for all dental students. Anyone know if this means all white shoes, or mostly white shoes? Are splashes of red, blue, or black ok? Thanks and good luck to all!

...ask...the...school

Typically when someone or someplace takes th time to specify white shoes, they mean white shoes, no splashes of color. Now that I think about it, neon pink is pretty close to white, in fact I think neon pink is a certain shade of white in many countries.

Thank you both for your sincere responses.

I asked my Foresight Leader about the same thing. She said that some of the profs are sticklers for the dress code and it is a very good idea to have a pair of white kicks. I picked up a pair of Adidas that dont look that gay.

white. no splashes of color as per Dr. Linfante.

They would have loved me at UMDNJ 😀 I frequently wore my trusty pair of brown plaid Vans (awesome traction for getting back and forth) in clinic when I was at U of Kentucky. Our dean at the time preferred (not required) that we wear white shoes, so students pretty much wore what they wanted. I'm gonna steal the polka-dot idea if you don't mind 😉

Maryland has a white shoe policy also, but i sport my grey nike frees everyday with no issues.

i would follow the dress code strictly the first week and see how they enforce it... you def. don't want to make any faculty enemies the first week.

jb!🙂
