Does every college preforms a white coat ceremony early in september ( i know NYCPM does) ? And wats the point of it done as a freshman?
Sounds really nice ... they must have been proud!! i think its a good confidence booster and a chance for the parents to see thier kids in the white a lil early!!we had ours at DMU yesterday. nice ceremony, took about two hours, good reason for the folks to visit for the weekend
they got to meet the dean, ask questions, tour the campus, see the anatomy lab (cadavers covered), meet all my good friends here, drink brewskis, mom insisted on doing my laundry/cleaning my apartment, etc.
alumni association pays for all the white coats
👍
For me, I like the idea of working hard for my white coat. It is like a two-year goal to make it through the basic sciences and finally get my white coat. It's the half-way point to becoming a doctor. This is just how I feel.
