I haven't posted really anything on SDN, but I check it constantly. Trying to see if/when schools are sending out letters and emails is a full time job! Well, tomorrow is the first Monday of January. I'm guessing since most schools send out admissions/denials in January, they're going to start to come *hopefully soon so I can stop worrying*. I've already been accepted to one school, and denied from another. But I'm waiting frantically to hear from my top choice. Anyone else feel the same way?

Same here... if this year's timing is anything like last's, I might be hearing from 2 schools next week -eek!

I don't think I'll sleep well tonight knowing that tomorrow is the first business day of January. I should be hearing from 2 schools this week or next about decisions...eeek!!! Keeping my fingers crossed. This is my second time applying

my IS school (VA) says they will notify us early Jan. Im so nervous, i know its my best... and probably my only shot. :xf:

yeah i'm terrified/insanely excited that we could be hearing from Va/md tomorrow

Why yes, thank you for reminding me that I am LOSING MY MIND. :scared: And I have to be at work 11 hours a day every day this week plus riding, so I will have to wait until 10pm to check my snail mail and email every day. Oh my effing christ on a pogo stick.

And now I will never sleep. *headdesk*

I'm very nervous. I've got winter classes and work keeping me busy. Two rejections, no interviews. But tomorrow is the first work day of the new year. Just stay positive, this could be our year! This could be the next chapter of your life. Scrap 09, now its 2010. A new start. Stay positive.

Fasten your seat belts, here we go! :luck:

The worst part is my boyfriend and mother constantly asking me if I've heard anything. As if I wouldn't tell them. PLUS it was the holidays!😛

I am.

January 9th: Iowa interview
January 26th: A&M interview
January 31st: Kansas interview

Somewhere in the middle I'll hear back from LSU and Western on possible interviews and OSU on possible acceptance, not to mention the normal daily stresses of classes and tests.

Oi! February 1st can't get here soon enough!

I actually think I'm becoming more sane as time goes on. I haven't heard anything either way from any of my schools and my dad keeps reminding me that this year is like a trial run and so I shouldn't have high hopes, or hopes at all it seems. Thanks dad for all your support. Anyway, good luck to everyone, don't stress out too much.

I'm not frantic *yet* really... counting on an interview from OKSU as they aren't too picky about that step for qualified IS applicants. I'll be frantic towards the end of February, near the interview, and then during March I'll be pulling my hair out. Basically.

Count me in for January panic. Hoping for a Penn invite, and it looks like NCSU made some acceptances mid-January last year :scared:
I had a dream last night that I got an acceptance call between classes, but then campus police arrested me because I was running in circles and screaming and rolling on the ground like a crazy person outside the humanities building 😛 (last semester they nearly arrested a professor doing Tai Chi outside the athletic center, so this situation actually seems quite plausible).
Good luck to everyone hoping to hear something tomorrow!

:scared:...Western. Last year it was on the 9th (I believe) that people started hearing based on the interview thread from last year. :xf::xf::xf:. And hopefully Iowa sends out another batch of interviews too. Good luck, that's quite the schedule.

Count me in for the January panic support group. I should be hearing from three schools this month (MN, WSU, and Illinois) so keeping those fingers crossed.

Good luck everybody!

I'm surprisingly calm about everything, now that I've been rejected from my IS.

I have my KSU interview next weekend, and I might hear from Western and Washington this month.

I think I like not knowing an exact date that I'll hear from schools, because waiting until Dec. 28th to hear from CSU sucked. Much more relaxed this way.

I completely agree with you. I hear from Minnesota and Western this month, and it seems to be at pretty random intervals. I'd rather not know the day, so if I receive an interview it's a pleasant surprise..instead of feeling like a last supper type situation with a deadline. I'm still nervous, don't get me wrong, but it's easier to handle.

I am freaking out... I havent heard anything from any of the schools I applied to. I keep telling myself no news is good news, but I am just ready to hear SOMETHING.

Is Minnesota for sure in January??

I've apparently forgotten what they said in that email super early on...aside from the fact that at the time, it was going to be a long wait to hear anything.

SO NERVOUS for this month. I hear about 5 schools for possible invites and 2 on acceptances/rejections/waitlist, so I'm hoping it all comes tomorrow (hahaha good luck with THAT wish) and I can stop stressing for a bit. But probs not. Although my body and mind seem to slowly be adjusting to the worry so it doesn't bother me quite as much...but maybe thats cuz I have one acceptance already. Bahhhh

I'm beginning to get super nervous about my KSU interview on the 9th...plus I just want to know if I got interviews at everywhere else so I can make plans for the coming months. I mean, if I'm making plans for transport to interviews, fantastic, but I don't want to put my life on hold waiting for them. I want to know if I'll be able to do this volunteer coaching thing or volunteer at the zoo NOW so I can get myself signed up and get started. Or alternatively know that I'll be busy on such and such weekends due to interviews. GAH!

I am going through the January panic, past the February nervous breakdown right to the March madness. I have had my interview and now I have to wait until the accept/reject/waitlist letters go out around the 8th of March. This is approximately 64 days of waiting.:scared:

I forgot that Western called people for interview that early in January last year. Now I am panicking about possbily hearing from both CSU and Western on January 8th!! :scared: I should also hear from Washington sometime this month too!!! Ahhh...I am feeling the January panic!!!

<F5> Frantic, me? <F5> No, not at all. <checks other email account>

I'm expecting to hear from Cornell, Minnesota, Illinois, VMRCVM, and possibly Penn this month, and I have an interview at Iowa in 3 (!!!!) weeks. Just slightly uptight over here.

I'm way stressed! I gave my mailing address on apps as my parent's house, and now I'm back at school, so I'm going to have to call them every day to see if any mail showed up for me! Snail mail is so much more official than email anyway!

Me! I think I might have applied to too many schools, thereby increasing my anxiety tenfold.

Yes, I am officially having a panic attack now that I know I will be hearing from my schools soon...VMRCVM this week and hopefully UF and UCDavis later this month!!!!😱 UTK not for at least another month or two....

December was way worse for me since two schools I applied to sent out their invitations and of course I got mine towards the end of it so I was worried I wasn't getting one...then I had an interview less than two weeks after I was notified and DURING finals. Very stressful...

Anyone else apply to Tuskegee? Should be hearing back next week or the week after!!ahhh

I thought about applying there but by the time I decided I wanted to I didn't have the time to get the hand-written LORs they wanted. Good luck!

::raises hand:: I did! I did! I was beginning to wonder if I was a lone Tuskegee applicant this year. If we are the only two folks that applied there, you'd think they could just go ahead and accept us already! 😀

Have you heard anything from them? The only communication I've had are replies to my emails about transcripts and LOR receipt months ago. Has your status page changed at all?

I am now on a...oh how do you say it...not first name basis...more of a...you've told me your whole life basis...with my mail man. Seriously...I now know the names of his kids, his favorite pass times, where he's traveled in the past 10 years, where he grew up, what his parents did for a living, etc. etc. Anybody think I check the mail a bit too religiously?

Oh Kansas State...PLEASE hurry!

Good luck to all with interviews this weekend!

Yeah the only thing I'm freaking out about is waiting to hear from Iowa State, because if I'm going to get an interview for Feb then I should be hearing from them in the next week! Wish me luck!:luck::xf:

I'm in the same boat you are with Iowa. My pessimist side is saying "forget it you have no chance" but my tiny optimistic side is saying "hey, at least you haven't gotten the rejection yet".

Yeah, Cornell said they expected to make the decisions on DVM/PhD interviews by tomorrow, the 7th. I'm really not expecting much, but it doesn't mean I'm not really nervous. The more I think about it, the more Cornell's program would fit me very well - I absolutely love the idea of PBL and there is definitely relevant research going on there for me (the reason Western isn't an option).

I'm still waiting for Iowa State too! I've gotten better at not freaking out and have been more patient as the time passes. I just want to start getting some good news instead of rejection after rejection 🙁

Nope nothing. My status page is still blank!
Last year everyone heard back on the 20th so I'm guessing we have another 2 weeks until we hear back. I'm so nervous!

I'm also still waiting to hear back from UoE.. hopefully sometime this week or early next week.

HandD42,
It's so funny because I keep tell my fiance everyday.. "hey, I didn't get rejected today.. isn't that great?"... and genuinely,i'm excited about that. (although an interview from Iowa would be much much more exciting)

ahhhh. yes. I def have January Panic! I am flying out to Kansas tomorrow to see some family before my interview on Saturday. Weirdly, I am not that nervous about that interview yet. I have been kind of distracted since one of my high school friends died in a car wreck this past weekend, but I know the nerves will hit soon. Maybe once I'm in Kansas.

Also I got this email message from Joyce Massey at VMRCVM

"For your planning purposes, the interviewee list will be finalized by the middle of the week. Interviewees will be notified via email by the end of the week. Interviews will be held in Blacksburg on January 28, 29, and 30"

So I've been checking my email on my phone like every 10 minutes since yesterday. Agh!
