what does everyone elses page say? those who have interviewed and those who know that they have one coming up. i was just wondering.

that is a very generic status page for the whole university. mine doesn't say anything about the interview even though my interview has been confirmed for dec 2nd. don't rely on that. Ohio state will keep you updated via email.

yeah we will see.. i am not the greatest applicant but i would think that at a school who only has ~250 instate applicants and accepts 84 that i should at least be interviewed but we will see i am not on a adcom and i dont really know how they think...

i only have anatomy left...i thought about OSU for undergrad and it would have been great but it was way to close to home like 15 minutes so i decided against it back then but looking back it would have been nice. deciding where to go when you are in highschool is hard

Anytime. I am down with sharing info about anything.

Here's some info,
when you get there everybody is carrying sheets with info on it. THere are like 60 people from OSU (staff/students). Find out who interviews you and during the time when everybody else is stuffing their face with breakfast, you can kiss butt hard. So eat before you go, the breakfast sucked anyway. They had like donuts and a ton of sweets, I am more of biscuits and gravy kind of guy, so I just spent the hour getting to know my interviewer. By the time it was my turn to interview, I was way comfortable with him and the student.

The interview is 2 on 1. Mine lasted 30 minutes. Easiest interview I have ever had. I was told that I either would get in or be an extremely high alternate. Another kid was told this word for word by his interviewer after the interview,

"Okay john doe, take the might out of this next sentence and you will know what I am saying. You might be accepted"

In short, he be accepted. Good Luck

The breakfast sucked? Come on now.... I think its pretty darn good and Dr. Iannucci goes all out for her potential future OSU dental students. Hopefully your impression of lunch was a little better????

On a serious note, just wanted to clear up a few misconceptions on this board. As far as "He be accepted"......maybe, maybe not. Interview only counts as a portion of total score. GPA, DAT, essay, and experience are all factored in -- some more than others. Also, the decision to admit does not come directly from the 2 interviewers, but they do have a say in a meeting that is held the following week after each interview session.

Yeah the breakfast was hyped and didn't live up. The lunch was kick ass! And yes "he be accepted", last year.

Overall Dr. Ianucci did a great job on her presentation of the school. I was impressed and I fully expect to get in.

if you're worried that your app will get a negative due to calling, it's not true at all. The student workers who pick up the phone have no say whatsoever in determining while you are granted an interview or not. They will be able to tell you exactly what they see on their computer screen for your app. They can also tell you if they have already invited enough people for the next interview date. give them a call and find out if your application is still in review or what...

out of the instate people they interview I have heard that about 50% of them get accepted..but don't know how accurate that is..anybody know any details on this? thanks

If I remember right, I think they said they have about 800-1100 in state apps. And about 50 spots. So it depends on how many they interview I guess.

You are right, 1,100 was total of instate and out of state.

I'm doing things differently than others due to life situations. Long story. I've been doing the requirements rather than the degree even though if you combine all my courses I've ever taken, I have a bachelor degree plus some. Not everyone follows the prescribed course of h.s. ---> bachelor ---> dental....but then, I'd rather lead than follow and prove things can be done differently if you make it happen.

As far as the 4th....18 days! I'm nervous, but I won't be excited until I actually get the call. I have confidence I'll get in, but I don't want to be cocky. It's easier to rise up than crash to the bottom!
