Anyone applying for the second time? or maybe third time. My Gpa is under 3.0 and I plan to reapply for 2006. I still have to reatake my DAT bc. I did not study the first time. Anyone else in this same or similar situation?

It is hard to get in with a 3.0 since most schools want the avg to be around 3.3. I had the same problem and went for a Masters program and finished it with a 3.5. I reapplied last week.

Reapplying for the 2nd go-round here. I have a 3.0ish Cum GPA but a 3.7 in my masters program. I retook the DAT in April and bumped my scores up to 20/19/19. Hopefully that's enough to get me over the hump in my state school or a private school that's willing to take a flyer on me!

Yeah, I submitted my aadsas for the second time on may 19. I'm excited to see what happens this round. I am telling myself that I didn't get in last round because I applied late (november 12). I'm really considering pulling all my waitlist deposits and getting on with another year of freedom, ie. get a decent job, plan some backpacking trips, etc.

Packrbacker, do you backpack? if you do, have you ever done the AT up through NH and ME? I know that the northeast isn't so close to NC, but its east coast from my perspective, so, maybe? My buddy and I are hiking it in July and I have a few questions if you've done it. Maybe you could just pm me or something. thanks!

Congrats on finishing the program with those numbers.

How was that Wash. U. experience?

Hopefully the third time is the charm for me. I also re-took the DAT and bumped up my scores. It sure is taking some determination and drive to stand back up and swing again.

Hello!

I had to apply twice as well, because I set my sights very short the first year. (Only applied to one school and got waitlisted, bump with my stats.)

Anyway, applying twice definetly won't hurt you and if you did something to improve your application, even better!

Don't give up or give in! I got into 7 schools and waitlisted at several others on my second application cycle. Of course apply and interviewing at that many cost some $$$$. It was worth it.

I'm going for the second time now. I think I should have applied to more schools, and though it was somewhat early in the cycle, my DAT can be improved. I got an 18/19/18, but the 14 QR score killed me...everything else was 18 or higher. I've sent in my application and applied to 12 schools...will retake the DAT and get higher scores...hopefully that will be it. I do have some concerns, my cum. GPA is about 3.6 and science is about 3.35. All of my sciences are from Community College, but I don't have much of an option considering I've been working for the last 6 years and supporting a family.

Thanks everyone! Sometimes I feel like I'm the only person going through this. I plan on reapplying this cycle in like a week but have not had much time in between cycles to really improve much. I re-wrote my personal statement, registered to re-take the DAT in August, and will be taking some graduate classes this Fall. I am applying to schools all over the map!!!!
Basically bc of my undergrad GPA I have to ace the DAT to get in. what do you guys think?

Good luck to all of you. There's quite a few people going through the process for a second or third time. As long as you discover where your application was weak and take the necessary steps to improve it, you'll find success down the road.

Hi...I applied 3 times and took the DAT 4 times and got in ....my GPA is with yours....it's all about persistance....and go visit and call the deans of the schools you want to get into....it's also who you know.....the only way you won't get in is if you stop trying...also you could get your masters degree....they don't look at your undergraduate grades if you have a masters

DO you plan on applying to UMKC?

Second time here too. I got the fatty boot from all the schools I applied to (15+ 😱 ). Hopefully, I will have better luck this year after taking extra courses, retaking the DAT, and having a much improved overall app. Good luck to the rest of you! 😀 👍 👍

Me. I just finished my third quarter at Calstate LA post bac. Horribly nervous about my grades this quarter. Was teetering at an A in two classes and I don't know how it went.
