iAM JSUT CURIOSU HOW MANY PEOPEL PLAN TO APPLY TO THIS SCHOOL. This is my third time applying to dental school, so i thik I may try to apply, being that i think not many people will becuase it is not yet accredited. Just wondering what everyone else out there thinks

I would like to know the details involving this school. What are the issues one would face in going to a non accredited school?

Well, from what i know, if it not accreditated, it is the equivalent of gettin your degree from a ceral box. But, what i was thinking, is, hopefully, by graduation, it will be accreditated. I might apply, jsut to see what happens. Maybe there will be very few applicants selected, being it is not accrediated, at least as of yet

Arizona is not yet accredited, but they don't suffer from a lack of interested applicants. I'm sure Hawaii will get a fair share of applicants considering the location.

im going to apply, my stats are a little sketchy so it will be my super back up.

I'm also applying to them because of my gpa's.

Just wanted to let you know the little information I received on the school. The ADA furnished them with an app for initial accredidation but the ADA has not yet received it. Kind of lame information, but right now anything is more than we knew before.

I've called them and emailed about 15 times and no answer. Someone said they are connected to the same people running the new pharmacy school which is at the same address as the dental school. I know they are having problems getting accredited too. Does not seem too great right now.

I wasn't aware that Arizona wasn't accredited. Suppose it doesn't become accredited, or it takes a considerable time to become accredited, what happens to those who have graduated? Can they practice dentistry?

This is like kicking a dead horse with the whole accredadation thing. No dental school can receive accredidation until they have their first class graduate. I'm not a big fan of ASDOH but they aren't going to have a problem with their final accredidation. They passed their first boards no problem so don't worry about it. No school would start if they thought they didn't have a chance of accreditation.
What scares me about the Hawaii dental school is what that kid claimed earlier on another post about how the tests will be done. He claims his uncle is on the admissions committee and says that the tests can be passed regardless of if you fail the test, it only matters if you try. I don't know about you guys but no way someone who failed all their tests is workin in my mouth.
