I know this is a very subjective question. The issue I'm having is I have a teacher I had 3 classes with and did really well, but it seemed like they had to think about saying yes to writing my letter of recommendation. He has seen the shy side of me, as well as the extremely motivated and academically successful side of me. I got an A's in three of his classes and went to his office hours and preceptor reviews more than anyone in the class. In fact, I think I got 100's on all of his tests since last year. I haven't preceptored for him, and I feel like I've never really interacted with him outside of asking for questions. When I asked him if he would write one for me, he said "Uhhh....yeah I've interacted with you enough." Only on a few occasions have I ever talked to him other than asking him for questions. There is another teacher I'm planning on preceptoring for, who I went to office hours for the only class I've took with him, but only have had one conversation with. He seems like a really reserved guy, and I'm not sure if opening up to him while preceptoring, and talking to him about future goals would be a better option than my other professor. I'm not sure what to do. Or should I just have both write one?
