Who's still working on secondaries?

Can those of you who are still working on some or all of your secondary applications reply here so the rest of us who are stil working on cranking them out dont feel too bad? I'm planning on sending the rest of mine in by the next 2-3 days just need to know whether others may be in the same boat and that not EVERYONE has been done with all their stuff for weeks and months. 😳

UVa is tough because I have no idea why I'd want to be in rural Charlottesville. For Sinai, I'm having a hard time telling them why I'm special. Temple, I'm lazy.

ps. i'm obv trying to make myself feel better but i think there's plenty of peeps out there who are still doing secondaries, they're just not on sdn. let's run with that theory, it's quite comforting...

I still haven't gotten 8 secondaries (no rejections either). I may be filling them out next spring sometime, I guess. Or they lost my application. It's hard to say . . . 😉

If I were you, khenon, I would call admission and ask them about your secondaries. A few of mine were supposed to get sent out and they got sent to the wrong email address so I received them later. So don't wait, just call! The ones I'm working on are Loyola, Temple, Albany, Tufts, and Rush, although Rush I'm debating because they give strong preference to IL residents (not sure if my family owning 2 condos in Chicago and the fact that used to live there would help) and their secondary, from what I have heard, sucks big time. A lot of my remaining schools also want a grad school letter that I don't feel up to the task of providing because I just matriculated and don't know my professors all too well so that sucks too. Kinda stuck between a rock and a hard place right now. Doesn't help that I'm getting sick right before my birthday either.

UCLA just sent me their secondary late last week . . . and my AMCAS was in early July. Hopefully I won't have teh same 1 month turn-around time on this one like I have all the rest.

But I still have Medical College of Ohio, Mt. Sinai, Albany, UW-Madison, and USC remaining. Reason: too busy and too tired!

Is it "too late" to even think about Mt. Sinai?

i still have UIC (MSP online and UIC regular) and stony brook - because I Haaaaaaaaate doing essays! and all of them seem to either be slight variations on topics or different topics, grr
and then UIC and downstate with their "addendums"!
i can't wait to stop applying!

I am still working on secondaries too!! I have sent 6 in and gotten 1 interview so far and i still have Temple, Tulane, UIC, Univ of Michingan, Saint Louis Univ, Emory, and a couple more I cant remember at the moment. Why in the hell did I wait this long Such a procrastinator. Hopefully it is not too late.

Well, since I last posted on here I've gotten 5 pre-sec rejections, 1 secondary invite, and I'm still waiting on 3 (UCSD, UCLA, and U of Hawaii - I have my doubts). Another post said that UCSD is sending their last batch of secondaries in Dec, so if you don't get one by then you're REJECTED! I don't know what the deal is with my other two. Oh well. There's always next year, right?!

Send them! I would, anyway. I figure if they are sending them at this point in the game, they must have screened you (I mean, what took so long, right?), and feel there may be a place for you (ie yeah, you weren't first on their list, but others have been rejected, didn't accept their spots, or didn't complete their secondaries). I actually feel better about the 1 secondary I got recently (all others I got back in August) because I KNOW they screened me, take very few out of staters, and must see something in me that they want to further pursue my application. It just makes me think they are taking me seriously and looking at my whole app, and not just sending a knee-jerk response secondary. Well, that's my opinion anyway! 😀 Good luck!
