I don't know what it is. Lately I've been having difficulties studying, and retaining information. I have an exam coming up soon, and it's incredibly difficult to know all of it when I've studied the same amount of material before. Lots of things I'm learning (for whatever reason) is just not clicking, and it's making me nervous...

Any ideas? Help? I worked my butt off for my high GPA, and now I feel as though failing my next exam is a possibility.

Any adverse/significant life changes? Any hardships/distractions?

How do the courses that you are struggling in compare to your last ones?

Where are you in your premedical journey? Undergraduate, I assume? Are you taking a heavier load of classes this semester than usual--or a particularly difficult class? Are you having troubles across the board or just in one class? Any distractions from your personal life?

Yeah I have some distractions. I am just a little stressed. Just constant self-doubt that I am trying to yield myself out of, and it's making it harder to study..

I just need to gain confidence.

Forget confidence. You get your ass right now to your school's counseling center.

I'm obviously in no position to diagnose anything, but it's possible that you might be sick. If you're having any symptoms, you might consider going to your doctor.

I second this ^ I felt similar to you a few semesters ago, so I went to my PCP. I had thyroiditis and it made it extremely hard to study/pay attention, then they put me on meds and I was fine a few weeks later. Not trying to freak you out or anything but its always possible. People tend to know their own bodies pretty well.

Thank you man. Went to the doctor and turned out I was sick! But I am getting prescribed medicine for it.

Could very well be a drop in fluid intelligence. It's said to happen in your 20s and keep decreasing.

Also in the future make sure its not seasonal allergies. When I forget to take my Claritin I just can't focus for the life of me

Water has an enormous influence on concentration. Sleep too.
Sleep well and hydrate well if it's not the case. 😉
