Why are Class of 2015 pre-meds changing their status to "Medical Student"?

Don't worry about guju's juju. Her comment was petty. Plus guju, you seem immature for assuming we 'caved' against said arguments. The reason I changed my status to med student was because I was excited and wanted to show that I had been accepted. I no longer consider my self pre-med since I am done with all the requirements/application and am no longer in school (I changed it to non-student which doesn't seem to show up). But I certainly don't feel like I 'caved'. I changed my status out of consideration for how it may affect others, not because I felt like I had lost some trite argument or some lame minutiae like that.

By mentioning you thought it was funny that people caved you are essentially sending the message that you are an assuming jerk. Yes. I was mad. I am finding it increasingly annoying that some people in the pre-allo threads find it necessary to post jabbing comments for the sake of what? Spite? I find it immature and it reminds me of high school days. I got away from that over ten years ago and tried hard to avoid it from the youngins at my undergrad when I returned to higher education. I can't stand inconsiderate people. Guju seems like the sort of person who gets defensive when someone is offended by her posts negatively instead of being polite and apologizing. Sigh... another insecure (or narcissistic) pre-med shows their true colors.

Methinks I could search through your posts and find something I find inconsiderate in there. I just don't care though. There's a saying about kitchens and heat that I'm sure is applicable here. Pots and kettles as well.

Same here. (And keep me accountable when I don't, because I can guarantee it'll happen at some point.) I think there just enough of a draw here to pull people right into the drama. I'm not quite sure what about the culture makes it that way but it seems to be a consistent issue on this forum.

Sorry if you found me petty. But the whole time you and torr were arguing why you should keep a status you are not yet until day of orientation and making a big stinking deal about it whereas you could've just ignored the thread and kept your medical student status if you wanted to.

So from where I was standing it just seemed like you and her and slc were all caving into removing it because people were getting upset. If that is not why you guys changed it then I apologize if it came off as offensive to you but it was not meant to be petty. It was just an observation that everyone jumped on me for making.

Though I do have to say it is far more petty to get angry over such a silly thing.

you put your medical student status back. dont become so gd cynical. you freaking be happy for your achievement thus far. you fugging put that status back UP. you can learn from both good and bad people. if you view everyone as a learning experience you will successfully navigate through SDN and much more importantly, LIFE.

Not only hypocritical but uninformed as well. If you look at any of the Florida school threads, you'll see that Guju is one of the nicest, most supportive, and most informative people in those threads. She always congratulates those who are accepted, and is nothing but encouraging to people who are on the waitlist; what's most impressive is that she even does this in threads where she has admitted she has no chance.

I know it's nice to feel like you belong, but don't do it by jumping on the bandwagon and bashing people on internet forums, k?
