What numbers are you referring to?
I'm guessing the OP is referring to GPA and DAT averages of their accepted students, and why those dont rank in the top 2 for all schools.

what do you mean by top 2?? i believe UCSF is #2 for research funding, if that's what you're talking about. if it is, then UMich is #1. UMich certainly doesn't have the highest enrollee stats. that title belongs to harvard.

more research funding doesn't guarantee higher incoming stats. there is NOT a direct correlation.

Actually, UCSF is #1 in research $ and are so by a long shot and have been for many years. Let me also say that little nugget doesn't really matter too much to me as lowly D2.
