Why do Ortho IMG's have lower Step 1's?

According to this and past year postings, every year it seems that the average step 1 score for a matched IMG is at least 10 points lower than average US senior matched. How is this so? I thought IMG's were at more of disadvantage than US seniors? Do these statistics include DO residencies too?

No they do not include DO residencies. They may include DO's trying to match into allopathic ortho, but a DO is not an IMG, I forget what they are classified as.

Because many of them were attendings in other countries.

People seem to overestimate step 1- people at the top residencies often have lower step 1 scores than you think. There is more to matching.
