Hi all,
I have been an avid SDNer since I first applied to medical school. But what I don't understand is why EVERYONE on this site states that they are within the upper 0.5% of medical students with regard to Q-bank and actual board scores. Just about every time I look on these sites, someone is listing a 250+ on step one, or a 90% cum on Q-bank. Why do people feel the need to come onto a website and exaggerate or out and out LIE about their performances? There are people too timid to list their actual results on here because they're afraid of looking inferior (which is obviously true because there are 0 scores listed on these forums below 200).
I come onto these forums to see how people are doing and to look for some genuine advice. I'm taking the boards at the end of this month, and it would be nice to see some honest responses/advice. And I'm sure I'm not the only one out there who feels this way.
The bottom line is that 90% of the nation passes step 1, and only 50% do better than a 215. I find it hard to believe that every one of the "frequent fliers" on SDN is rocking a 250+.
So please, if you rocked the exam, good for you! Hopefully we'll do the same. But if you're one of those people just looking for some attention by inflating your scores, try masturbating. The rest of us have work to do.
