Why do surgeons/surgery residents/students wear scrub caps outside of the OR

you're only sterile from your shoulders to your belt line when you scrub in. you can sleep in your cap and it wouldn't change the issue of sterility (well maybe lol)

i always take my cap and booties off when i leave the OR locker room because its just sensible practice. i do like wearing the booties though because they kill the coefficient of friction and u can powerslide around the wards. 👍
