I understand that we have to send our DAT scores to every school individually, but my question is why doesn't AADSAS have us send ONE official copy and then they can verify the scores for the dental schools. Wouldn't that be much simpler than having each school do it themselves for every student? It would be like the LOR's and transcripts.

I guess they like to keep a decent and verifiable paper trail.

Interestingly though, I remember reading a post a few months back that stated a price increase for sending out official DAT scores : from $15 two years ago --> $25 last year. The price jacking coincided well with the increase in applicants over the last year. Bling bling I guess.

The prometric center and aadsas are not the same thing. Aren't they two different companies? You don't even have to submit your dat scores on aadsas. I didn't. I just had the prometric center send them out. So unless aadsas changes the rules that dat scores have to be sent through them, I don't see that changing.

Schools get official (electronic) copies of DAT scores, which have been verified, from the ADEA - so the schools don't have to do anything to "verify" the score reports...

Quite simply, it's all about the $$$

Thanks for the responses! I understand it's a money making process...so sad. I just have an efficient way of thinking, not money making.
