The waiting game is fun if you ask me. All the anticipation, the mad dash to the mailbox after school, reading threads about why we play the waiting game.....
Whats the rush anyway? School doesnt start until next August. Just enjoy your time as a free agent.

That is far from the point. I am literally broke from spending thousands of dollars flying all over the country for interviews. If a few of these damn schools atleast gave you a hint about acceptance, I wouldn't have to spend so much money traveling.
Dental schools really need to take a tip from medical schools in their admission processes.

The cost of airline tickets, yeah its expensive. But then again, dental school is expensive. If your gonna complain about all the costs, wait till you actually start paying tuition.
Regarding the Dec 1 date. Its really in the interest of BOTH the school and the students. What if there were no dates. Some out-of-state school sends you an acceptance with a request for $500 due in 30 days. 25 days pass, no other letters, so you send your money. A week later, another school closer to home (cheaper..whatever) sends you an acceptance. You rather go there, so you send another $500 for deposit. a month later your #1 choice accepts you. I'm sure you see the trend.
With the Dec 1 system, at most, you should lose 1 deposit.

I agree that we need a date. However, it should be earlier than dec. 1st., Like Nov. 1st or Oct. 15 (like the medshcools). Then their wouldnt be a problem of getting an acceptance super early from a school and having to drop down a deposit before hearing from other schools. This Dec. 1st stuff is killing me.
But I guess I need to finish my interviews first, then I really will only be thinking about Dec. 1st.

I am sick and tired of the argument that if you think that airline tickets are expensive, wait till you start paying tuition. Um...we understand that tuition is expensive. I just don't want to lose another dollar visiting schools that I didn't want to visit all because a bunch of people at the adcoms won't give you an honest answer. Every dollar counts in this lifetime, and I wish adcoms realized that.

Yes, the modulators ban the IP address, which means if somebody is using a home computer with a static address, they can no longer post to SDN on that computer.
Of course, somebody could rotate through computers at school and keep registering. Oh well.
