There must be a lot of people on SDN that lie about there MCAT scores...I have seen way too many 13, 14 and 15's and yet only 2-3% of people achieve these scores...Please post if you lied about your scores on here no matter how small the fib...

I've lied about how many girls I've scored. 😀

Don't forget, SDN is a collection of uber-gunner premeds, so its actually possible that quite a few have achieved these scores and are just here. This is why you should take everything here with the proverbial grain of salt.

It's true. Though there are undoubtably some posters that lie about their scores, there are also a ton who have 35+ mcat scores.

I'm waiting for someone to post they got a perfect score 🙂 Except there hasn't been one of those in years...

Nerds on the internet? CRAZY!

Mine's the honest truth, and there are some other high ones I definitely believe. Indy, lorelei, and VFrank (where is she lately?) come to mind. FreakyFreak? Not so much.

I don't think that most posters are lying about their scores. This website is highly skewed toward people who have higher scores, because they tend to be the ones who want to post them for the world to see. (If you managed to score in the high 30s or more, wouldn't you want to tell someone?) I think there are also a lot of lurkers who have lower scores, and some don't feel comfortable about posting them, though I've seen plenty of them post as well. Second, it isn't very logical to lie about your scores on a website like this. What is the point of it? This site is anonymous and there is absolutely zero advantage to posting false scores on it. Finally, someone has to score at the top. Why shouldn't it be some of the SDN members? I do not believe that anyone should be accused of posting false scores without proof. We ought to presume that posters are innocent until proven guilty, not the other way around.

For the record, I did NOT lie about mine. 😍

If I knew that, I'd ditch the whole med school idea and make billions as an admissions guru! Okay, maybe not. Anyway, I did talk to the dean of admissions and found out that I'm at least in the very top sliver of waitlistees, and he told me if I write a letter of intent this spring I've got a really good shot at getting in. So it's a great situation for them, since if I write that letter they would know they're my first choice. From their point of view it's very simple. It's a little rougher on me.

No applicant gets into ALL of the schools, but with high MCAT scores and a good GPA you can be reasonably assured you will get into a few good schools.

35? 43? Man you people just aren't trying. I made a 98 on my MCAT....I'm still upset though about missing a perfect score by 2 stupid points. Oh well that's ok because I'm retaking in February.

2-3% of over 50,000 test takers is a lot of people each year. I assume once you make it into the top 2-3% you're not gonna retake the test.

Geez, 4.0 and 43. That's as high as it gets considering nobody scored above a 43 on the MCAT. What I don't understand is how a school could possibly justify not admitting the top candidate in the nation, every school should be kissing your a$$ right now. Oh well, this process is just ridiculous.

honest to God truth....

Hey Wiggy,

You mentioned that you interviewed with the Dean and since Vanderbilt was your undergard, is that why you were ballsy enough to ask the Dean why you were put on the waitlist? Or would you do that at any school you were waitlisted at?

The reason I ask is because I have been waitlisted a couple times, and I was kindof wondering what the etiqutte was in asking for clarification of why I was waitlisted and what I can do to get off the wait list. Is it acceptable for people in general to call up the admissions office and be like wtf, waitlist (in a nice way, of course)? Thanks in advance. 😀

Well, I kinda figure asking "How could you possibly waitlist marvelous ME?" is not a good idea! But in a nice way? Sure. Yeah, I did feel a lot more comfortable about it since it is my undergrad and I did interview with the dean of admissions, and my premed adviser also told me to ask the dean. It was more of a "where do I go from here" type conversation. How does the waitlist work, should I send updates, what kind, etc. That led to "what are my chances now" and "how can I maximize them". The dean was really awesome about it, and he said that he met with any student who had questions like mine.

Basically, my take on the etiquette is that it's perfectly acceptable for a waitlisted applicant to have all the information about how the waitlist works and what they can do to get off it, as long as the focus is on moving forward. Those questions I would definitely ask at any school. Ballsy? Maybe, but I AM getting in this year!!!

Yeah, sure, a collection of uber-gunner premeds. Such people would not waste their time worrying about every little thing on this web site. It is so ridiculous. I bet 70% of people here lie about their scores.
