why doesn't the public know what 'optometry school' is?

This forum made possible through the generous support of
SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.

Ahhh, I just love to hear someone stomp the last grey cell from the common man. Your words are pure poetry, you are welcome in this forum anytime.

all I have to say is "whatever" to the both of you............

I made lindsay lohan the title of my latest blog entry and it just about quadrupled my traffic

You very well may have proven my point. Perhaps you have a future in chiropractic as intelligence is seldom a pre-requisite for admission and most definitely not required for practice.

The public's perception of Optometry is certainly important, but ODs' self-perceptions shouldn't be hinged on the misperceptions out there.

You &%(@#&%$*&#%$ &#$$YI# where on earth is your sense of humor?????? You seriously should lay off the dungeons and dragons because it has made you what I call "out of touch", I can't believe you didn't get that!!!!

P.S. you couldn't possibly ever insult my intelligence-there's no way! I just took a practice OAT cold for the first time without any previous oat prep and whooped its ass, wooohooo (380 on the RC and 370 on the QR)

OAT is definetly not a sign of intelligence, sorry bro, and neither is this board

Response to ProZackMI,

LOL I would never trust a nurse or a CNA to remove anything from
my eye or a patient's eye! As to your comment on "minor surgical
procedures" look at this link

http://www.aoa.org/x5878.xml

technically FB removal qualifies as a "minor surgical procedure"--
technically I am correct. Other slit lamp anterior segment in-office
minor surgical procedures are coming in a few years (my state has already
drafted a bill for a broader scope---pain medication, diabetic sticks,
epi-pens, corneal procedures--the bill cleared the first two hurdles.) I dont want to split hairs
with you I but I have read a lot of your past posts. I am a
proponent for expansion of scope (within reason).

Ah, yes, the OAT and the WAIS/Stanford-Binet; both are commonly used for entrance into MENSA I hear! I do believe your response has once again proven my point, little girl.

You should really tone it down a little. And bragging about your scores on OAT prep test is about the saddest thing I've ever seen.

eyestrain what are you the internet moral militia now ???

I'm not concerned with internet morals, however I will call out stupidity when I see it. Asmaka19 posted something stupid, so I commented.

Great, I make a comment about stupidity and then I double post. Nice.

Like it or not, chiropractors serve a need in the health community and they are here to stay.. They are not any less of a professional than you. You do not need to degrade anyone's education like that. Since you are not offering constructive advice for optometrists, you need to find yourself a new forum to spread your narcissism.

We can do without your "Who are the real 'doctors', is my MD degree worth more than your degree, or your intelligence is less than mine... Nyah nyah!"

LOOOL-that one did make me laugh.

All I have to say BRING IT! I can take you all on!!!! LOOOL

just kidding; seriously though-I view these forums as a place for support when it comes to the process and not a place to have the same type of arguments I have with my 12 year old brother with some antisocial, bitter adults-some of us get enough of that at work.

Jeff, is that guy in the pic carrying a snorkeler? I guess he was afraid he'd drown in tomato juice LOOOOL

asmaka19, I agree w/ eyestrain--hanging your hat on the first practice OAT you take might put you in a bad position for the long-run. You should especially avoid cherry-picking with your scores. Sure those particular numbers are great, but you might need to realize that there are people on this board with real TS or AA scores higher than you're reading comprehension abilities rate on your first practice OAT.

You might know that practice test series generally get harder as you go along, with one of them in there designed to represent the toughest OAT you could take. That first test is usually designed to sort of boost your confidence (which we all can see it has), and sure, everybody needs to sort of build themselves up when they're getting ready to apply--confidence is important. However, just based on the handful of your posts I've read so far, you're lucky there's not writing sample section on the OAT, 'LOOOL.'

Bear in mind that you're headed towards professional school, and while many of the people on here do in fact have good senses of humor (but not Zack/😉 just kidding), we also generally put a little bit more thought into what we say--especially about other people. If you're looking for support/respect on these forums, then you might need to realize that it's a two-way street.
