Why give GnRH agonist in central Precoc puberty ?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Continuous GnRH suppresses LH and FSH release because GnRH receptors get downregulated. Pulsatile GnRH would increase FSH and LH. So continuous GnRH is given to treat precocious puberty and endometriosis, whereas pulsatile GnRH can be used to treat infertility.
