Your premise is incorrect, not everyone wants to live in Boston.
A favorite past time of Bostonians is saying how great and how much Boston sucks in one breath.
I don't understand the appeal of Boston. If i'm gonna be cold, i want mountains.
We got mountains. I'm currently staring at a mountain of snow in my parking lot.
but there are preferences and then there's data, and the data show that Boston's population (and its housing market) has boomed in the last few years.
As someone who bought 2 years ago, I can confirm. The neighbor in my building who has a smaller sqft just sold for 10% more than what I paid.

Clearly, you've never been across the river to Camden. It's almost always in the top 3 or 4 most dangerous cities in America (well above B-more and any other east coast city).
Why the hell would any Philly people cross the river? The only time I crossed into Camden was to go to Cherry Hill for a movie. On the other side, I live near Center City and it's pretty safe and fun here. Couple of my friends got broken into, but they're all cool about it.

I’m from Jersey and went to Rutgers Camden for a couple years, so I went there almost every day. Fun times.

Hyperbole. But there's a rural physician shortage for a reason.

They have a substantial post-interview cut though. About two thirds. US News is wrongety-wrong-wrong with their 60% post-interview acceptance figure.
So do you think then that being rejected post II is not necessarily indicative of a bad interview?

Every harvard grad I know irl has a weird sort of prestige guilt where they go out of their way to not drop the "H bomb".

There is so much truth to this. I've met multiple Harvard grads on my interview trail and they literally stutter when you ask them where they went and you finally get the response of "I went to school in Boston"

Which is even more obnoxious. No other school's alumni act like they went to the Voldemort of universities.

Whats even more upsetting is Harvard isn't even IN BOSTON.
