Why is ever letter i recieve from schools OPENED????!?!?!?@

Ok So basically ALMOST ever single letter i receive from dental schools is opened. Just yesterday i got another opened letter.

They are just over half way opened too, so enough room to read it but you would have to be very carefull not to wrinkle it or completely open it.

Here are my thoughts:

1) My parents open it to see any latest news? But i usually am the person who gets the mail and when i see an opened letter i always tell them NOT to open my stuff, so they dont (they only did this when i lived out of state).

2) Mailman has a conspiracy against me? Or has a crush on me (sick 😱)

3) Coincidence? Cmon none of my important letters are opened IE bank statements, CC statements etc. This has valuable info on it and they arent opened.

4) Schools are too lazy to lick the envelope since they have so many to send out.

What do you guys think, any other ideas? And no im not joking about this, it kind of is pissing me off.

I noticed the same thing with my mail from Nova (nova in general). It's always nova only, nothing else is opened (bills, etc)

Most likely, #1. I remember when I was a pharmacy school applicant, all of my letters were half open, and my parents would walk around smiling all day since they obviously took a peek at the acceptances and I found the rejections and waitlisted letters in the freaking trash! I have to sign a consent form in order to get placed on the waitlist and they had been sitting in the trash bin in my dad's office for a long time. 😡

They know that they should respect my privacy, but I guess the temptation to hear the good news drew them to cross the line.

haha or being 23 i should move out. I guess i only have 2 months i can wait, and all the schools have gotten back to me so no more letters except for the ones from temple.

I told my mom I got a 12 on the SAT. She never took the test (immigrant) so she bought it, but told some other parents who promptly burst her bubble. Poor mom.

Word. What's more is that the entire Asian community knows your business, sometimes before you do!


I think my nova letters were sent open also. Sometimes people really are just too lazy. I would also suspect that maybe a student assistant is stuffing the envelopes and doesn't care.

My letters from most dental schools were opened both with and without tearing (obsolutely not my parents because I live by myself).
I thougtht it could be:
A) the mail man
B) the school staffs did not sealed good enough
C) the school staffs forgot to seal it
D) all of the above
E) More than one of the above

That's ridiculous... Asian parents would open your letters completely without any qualm. Care to leave it partly open for you to enjoy the moment? Unlikely 😛

I vote for #4 b/c admissions staff have so many letters to go through.. its difficult to seal them all completely.
