Why is molality temperature independent?

Is it because it's over kg, which is mass and does not depend on temperature? If so, molarity is temperature dependent right?

ask chad. i just did a google search which seems to say molarity is temp dependant whereas molality is not. i dont quite understand the reasoning however.

Exactly. Mass is independent of temperature, therefore so is molality. Volume is temperature dependent, and so is molarity. 👍

Look at the units. moles / kg

Both units are independent of temperature

Compare that to molarity : moles / L
Volume is dependent on temperature because it can change the volume of the solution..

question - i thought the mole fraction of a solution would change with temperature because i thought Keq changes with temperature. My EK Bio 1001 book said that mole fraction doesn't change with temperature. can someone help (please quote me so i get notified 😉 )
