Well if you project a light from the top of the object, it clearly gives you choice B. Choice A is close but those are not straight lines and I think the real side projection of it would be shorter than A plus the longer side seems to be a bit thiner in choice A!

the answer can't be A, although it first seems like one end of the L shape is slanted but when you look "extra" part from back view then the silouette should be D, it's hard to explain, i dunno if this makes sense to you

When it comes to problems like these (i.e. problems where none of the answers are what you would call "correct") I like to assign percentages and probabilities of each answer being the correct one.

A-57.9% (there is an error with this one, but it seems the most likely to be correct)
B-34.8% (same shape but size is noticeably too small)
C-0.00% (no way you could justify this one)
D-7.3% (doesn't have the "broken" end like PathJoe said)

Hum defenitly a hard question but limiting it down to A or D, I could rationalize and say that the slant/angle by choice A is to much of a slant. Look at the picture carefully the slant is just on the top corner, it doesnt really extend down so much.
Where I got a little confused is the base of the object is rounded so how exactly does it fit into the space?

This question is hard. I had a DAT class today and had everyone look at it. According to rules choice is out because there is room to wiggle. A and C are both not drawn exactly to scale take your choice.

YAY AWESOME NEWS

I just saw this question somewhere else and the answer says A. It shows the different views and for the back/front view the slant it shows to be just like choice A. So where ever it showed answer as choice D it really is choice A!
