Why keep interviewing?

Why are schools continuing to interview students when there are people on the alternate list waiting to gain acceptance? I think that if you are on the alternate list you are good enough for the school, right? So why keep interviewing and screw those people? If you can't tell I am on the alternate list and am very angry that I had all of my application materials in on time and the schools that I am on the alternate list at are still accepting secondaries and are still interviewing. Can someone please explain this.

Basically,

HOw it goes with most schools is that once all the entire interviews are done, any remaining spots that open are used by the alternate list.

I can understand your frustration. My only advice would be to start thinking of your options if you don't get in.
