Just a couple questions for people who chose to go to NECO. Why did you end up choosing NECO? What was it that made it stand out for you? Also, my interview is coming up on Monday, so were there any out of the ordinary questions that the interviewer threw at you? Or maybe any other questions you can think of besides the normal questions? Thanks

Congrats on the interview. I am having my interview there on April 29th. But NECO is my top choice. First, I like the fact it is a private school and the money you are paying are going directly to your education and your field. Also, I like the fact that they do small group projects/lessons, because that is the way I learn the best. They also provide more hands on and earlier training than most schools do, you start assisting with eye exams your first semester. They also do a lot with international healthcare and have a diverse student body something like 25% of them are from other countries. As far as interview questions(mine is not until after yours, so if you don't mind could you tell me what it is like): I would be able to explain any/if any weakness in your Academic record, your strengths, weaknesses, why OD and why NECO, and future of optometry. I have list of interview questions that I made up for the pharmacy club(before I wised up) that I could send you, I am sure the questions will be very similiar. Good Luck!

Hey! I have an interview at NECO April 29 as well! Good Luck!!

Cool. We will both know at least one person there now. So, why did you decide to apply to NECO? I have never been to Boston before, so I am excited. I am going to spend the rest of the weekend up there. Good Luck!

NECO program structure is not efficient for learning and force their students to cram a lot of not-so-useful info into their head. Cutting up dead bodies??? What real gain is there in this process...I'd rather be learning something that is more applicable to the field and cut up cadavers in my spare time 😛 just joking! Really, just look at my anatomy grades....and let's get onto to the juicy stuff. They make you learn too much useless material....but there's a bunch of schools out there that run their show the same way....

no disrespect intended to any parties.

ucbso
mainstream...i think not!
