Why not Kaplan study book??

I joined a MCAT study course organised by Biology department. They claim it is $700 worth and they get grant for this. They're charging us $100 and will give us Kaplan Premier 2010-2011 book to study. 900 pages, I can handle this...

One professor like EK.

What I gather from here is EK for BIO and verbal - and rest TBRs

Kaplan is considered 3rd after TBR/EK and TPHR in this forum.

I'm confused... should I stick with Kaplan or EK.TBR combo. I don't want to study Kaplan and TBR both.

Why don't the university teachers people know about TBR, if they're so awesome... I'm sure these are good... but why're they advertised and available like EK, Kaplan, TPR???

Amazon does not sell it either.. this sucks.

Kaplan, TPR, and now even EK are the mainstream MCAT (and other standardized tests) books. Is TBR better? Perhaps, but not many people know about TBR because it's not advertised as heavily as the others.

At the end of the day, you have to make a decision and try to identify which book(s) will work for you and your learning style. No one book will make you perform better. If you prepare, you can do well with any of the MCAT prep programs/books out there.

Also, based on my communication with TBR when I bought my books, their operation is much much smaller than Kaplan and TPR. I think they're in the early stages of setting up an MCAT prep empire.

Be confident in the material you decide on, put in the time and effort, and you will get the score you deserve. Good luck!

You don't have to buy everything new. Buying used books can save some serious cash. I bought used book sets and ended up paying less than $500 and had pretty much everything there was. The only thing I bought new was the TBR physics books, and it was totally worth it.

I liked TBR the best because of their explanations. They have way more passages and questions and I felt they were the most like my MCAT. At least in the sciences. If you haven't heard of them its probably because your not close to Cali.
