Come on guys. No more stupid threads like these. We all know ivy league schools schools cost more, should count more, and are better. Just go to an ivy school if you think it will better your chances at getting in to medical school.

I know of several schools in just my state (MA) which cost the same price range or more and they are not IVY league. I am assuming there are many colleges that cost more all over the country.

Ivies cost more by virtue of them being private schools. Private schools tend to be more expensive because they have lower faculty:student ratios, meaning each student has to pay a little bit more. In addition, many private schools guarantee/subsidize housing, have special programs set aside, and money aside for academic expenditures. Although privates are more expensive, the money tends to be used more effectively than public institutions because there is no red tape. Money can be directly accessed...for example, UCLA could have been named Keck if there wasn't as much red tape, overhead crap.

I pay less than 15,000 bucks per year hear at CU just for being a NY state resident. College of Human ecology. All the statutory colleges take classes with everyone else, so none of this BS about how "easier" it is. Plus, our diplomas still read EXACTLy the same except we are B.S. not B.A. like in engineering or arts.

That's what I call an IVY education for state price

Well, too sum it all up in one word: hypocrite

He tells others that their "arrogant" because they post their progress during the application season, yet somehow someway, information slowly leaks out through his posts about his progress.

Yes of course! What was i thinking? There are plenty of Cornell pre-meds, with nicknames starting with "BigRed", "close to a 4.0 GPA", 34 MCAT, acceptances to only NYU and NWU [each one of them started threads about them to different websites] and who get into heated debates about how superior their education at an Ivy league school was and why adcoms take that into account.

Well even if i am stupid, i still have the ability to see through your BS. When did you talk about NW? You seem to forget your 3+ page thread you started "NWU vs NYU". Of course that doesn't mean that you are the same person. Nor does the fact that you had a "Harvard sucks" on your avatar since forever and the "other persons" nickname is GO BIG RED ... Tezzie: Everything she quotes is out of context, so I know her signature is bogus. When I posted my stuff, it was on threads that asked for it, like "still on hold at 20+ schools" or something like that. I have never offered anything about myself, or rubbed it in anyones face - only when I was asked did I share because I am not one of those freaks who is competitive and doesn't want to share numbers. If there's anything I can do to help (ie posting time from sec to interview, MCAT, GPA etc.), then I will. My app is not the best and that gives others hope. Read the thread I quoted to slick a few posts up. She is a freak and I almost left SDN because of her.
